1000 Tattoos by Henk Schiffmacher (2005, Paperback, Special)

The book contains a vast array of intriguing tattoos. The only thing I would have liked added to it is more writing. I would have liked to read more about the artists, different areas where they were from, the historical context of the designs, and a history of tattooing itself. There is a small summary of writing at the beginning of the book, the rest is all photos. The contemporary tattoo section is also quite lacking. They could have had a higher quality collection of recent work. Overall a great book to see how tattooing has evolved over they years. Definitely worth picking up.

the book just didnt have alot of modern tattoo designs if you into that ol school sailor look you might be more into this book

This book was for my nephew and he loved it.
Very informative with great pics.
If you want a book that explaines tattoo history this is the one.
