101 Fabulous Rotary-Cut Quilts by Hopkins and Martin 19
Created: 12/02/09
101 Fabulous Rotary-Cut Quilts by Judy Hopkins and Nancy Martin is an Excellent book for both beginner as well as advanced quilters. It has 272 pages and has 101 quilt patterns in alphabetical order all graded according to their difficulty, for those of you who like to know how difficult they are to make.
The beginning of this book covers many instructional facts about the templates you will need, the fabric (including fat squares) and the preparation needed to make beautiful quilts with a close attention to accuracy and the finished product.
The easier patterns include, but are not limited to, the nine-patch, broken dishes and attic's window. The more difficult patterns require the learning of and use of triangles which are not difficult to do, but initially a struggle when you are beginning. Each pattern has a color photo followed by black and white instructions, which I liked a lot. Books that are all color are more expensive than this book to print and frankly the authors in this case, blended color with black and white in an beautiful way, as far as I am concerned. The last section of this book talks about the finishing of a quilt. It is good for beginners and is as detailed as the patterns. No short cuts were taken in this book.
I highly reoommend owning it, you will get many hours from using it and I encourgage those of you, who love quilts and easy techniques to consider it. I hope these details help you understand better what you might find. Good luck quilting and thanks for the opportunity to tell you about it.

I have been searching for a quilting book that would broaden my quilting skills now that I am no longer a beginner and not yet an advanced quilter. This book is by far the best I have found in terms of having very clear step-by-step instructions, great photos/diagrams and a fantastic variety of wonderful rotary cut patterns for every skill level. I wish I had located this book when I was beginning to learn how to cut and piece. I have purchased several dozen quilt books and found this one by Judy Hopkins and Nancy Martin to be the best for clear instruction, many beautiful patterns and having patterns that will appeal to quilters of all skill levels. If you have have any of these ladies other rotary quilt books, you may see some of the patterns are the same. However there are enough new ones to make the purchase worth the money. It was a great purchase and my only regret is that I did not find it sooner. I now know these authors are the ones I will turn to for clarity of presentation and patterns with traditional and comtemporary style that will have wide appeal to quilter's of all skill levels.

I love to quilt and look at new patterns. I got this book from the library and enjoyed it so much I wanted one of my own. I found it on EBAY and won the bid. It is in very good shape and has the name of the owner, who also enjoyed quilting. It has great patterns with easy to understand directions.
It will give hours of delightful activity.

This is a great book for those that Quilt. Shows a lot of short cuts for Rotary cutting of quilts. No for the new sewer but for any one else would be great. Only drawl back is several of the quilts are in other of her books also, some duplication but other than that great cutting and sewing tool.

This book contains many patterns which are vintage and not always seen in other quilt books or magazines. It is well written and organized. Each of the patterns given, are rated for beginners to intermediate. None of the quilts in the book are that hard. The illustrations and photographs are great! Patterns are arranged from A to Z. This is not an instructional book and some of the directions are general. That said, I can as and experienced quilter figure ways to streamline patterns given. However, this is a book which is a must addition to any quilter's library. It is good value for your money.
