Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Sony PlayStation 2, 2006)

I bought this game because I wanted to try something from the vast universe of Dragon ball videogames that I could know for sure wouldn't dispoint me. After seeing a video demonstration or two, I was hooked. I needed to get it. And the tag phrase about how this game was even better than its first namesake just pushed me to get it right away.
Even though at the beginning, the premise of the boardgame and the menus may seem a little cheesy and not that well done, the part that matters are the fights. Those couldn't be better done. You can kick ass in style, learn a few power ups, have fights mid-air in glorious 3-D (fortunately, the characters translate well to this media) and unlock a miriad of characters like you wouldn't believe.
Like I said, at first it may not totally seem like it, but once you're deep in the fight, this game delivers.

It is fun to become and fight against characters from DBZ and practice the moves. Fun!! It is fun to go Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 with Gohan. Training is fun too because you can learn some new moves. We really really like it and we've only had it for two days.

My son saw the movie with a friend who was more into Dragonball Z and after the movie that's all they talked about. So getting the game was a no-brainer since it's exactly what my son wanted and he and his friend have been playing it often.

One other thing I'll say it that they will take the actions of the game and go outside and act them out in pretend play. I love that because I'm always trying to get my son to do any activity outside and if it's battling like Dragonball Z, then so be it.

This game is good, But you'll hate story mode is like a kinda of chess type of thing. Its the most annoying thing. YOu pick whom to fight in story mode which makes harder how to follow the serie step by step. Nothing like the story mode of DBZ Budokai 1, You had your videos and openings and all. It was great. But this game story mode sucks big.

Other than that... Is perfectly good and fine! and you'll love it.! just do a cheat and get all characthers and have fun on fighting the COM or the tournament on advanced.

This is probably the worst Budokai game there is. The story mode is terrible! All there is for a story mode is a little map, and you move your characters around like some sort of board game.

If you are looking for a good dbz game, try Budokai 3. Budokai 2 offers very few characters. The game isn't even that easy to understand.

I love dbz, but this game stinks!
