The 10th Kingdom

For anyone who has never seen this movie, it actually was made for TV as a mini series. It's full of fantasy and keeps you interested so it never gets boring. There are many good/great actors who do a great job, and also some incredible scenery throughout the story. It's a great story for kids or adults and includes many of the fairy tales you heard growing up like Cinderella, Snow White, and many others. Basically it's about a girl and her father who end up in the fairy tale world called The 9 Kingdoms, where they try to help the Snow White's grandson, Prince Wendell, and find their way home with the help of some interesting characters. There is a little action, some magic, comedy and a little romance as well. If yer still not sure, try renting it. Or come borrow mine! ;)

A grown-up twist on all your childhood fairytales.

This was originally a mini-series on NBC. It the version I watched it was
10 hours long. This set is an awesome gift for any girls or anyone who loves
fairytales. It's about a girl named Virgina and her father Tony. They unknowingly travel through a mirror into the land of the nine kingdoms. It gets better as it goes on. They meet other interesting characters and they
even have Dianne Wiest as the successor of the original Wicked Witch. It's
got action, adventure, comedy, and a little bit of romance. It's long but
well worth it and the cast and storyline are superior. What more could you
ask for?

This is one of the best fairy tales I have ever seen. Virginia feels lost and alone in her life, stuck taking care of her downtroden father. When she stumbles upon a mystical mirror that whisks them away into a magical kingdom. Virginia and her father find themselves lost in a fairy tale land with their new found companions. Wolf, an animalistic ex-con and Prince a former royal human, golden retriever. Endlessly searching for the mysterious mirror that will send them back home. Mercylessly hunted by an evil Queen and her henchmen. Virginia slowly unravels the secrets about her past and learns to love, trust and believe in herself again! She finds, and finally believes in a happy ever after!!! I recommend this to anyone who ever watched and enjoyed any childhood story ever told.

The 10th Kingdom is completely captivating!

I was absolutely surprised at how much I enjoyed this film. The entire family LOVED this film! (Four kids, both male and female, ranging from 10 to 14 years.) We fell in love with the characters (I got a little crush on Wolfie and I'm a happily married woman! Of course, never fear, I would NEVER act on that crush. I DO realize that Wolfie is half wolf and, besides, he's taken.) We just couldn't wait to watch each next episode which is why we've just bought the DVD set - it's worth watching again!
One note of caution -- there is one scene at the end of the series where Wolfie and Virginia "disappear" into the woods and reappear later a quite disheveled and it is obvious what they were "doing" off in the woods. And pretty soon, Virginia learns that she is expecting a little wolfie. They do get married, but it would have been nice if they had gotten married before getting the girl pregnant. You know, kids ARE watching. Hello, it's a fairy tale. If there were any other similar things in the mini-series, I can't remember what they were, but it is entirely possible that there might have been some innuendo that probably went over most kids' heads.
