a fun ride through the world of pokemon, Bring your camera!

     | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Pokemon snap is a fun pokemon console game for the nintendo 64 in which you ride a cart on a set of tracks and take photographs of certain of the original 150 pokemon during the course of the game you are challenged to take better pictures and find hidden pokemon to add to your album which opens up new levels for the player sometimes you have to find a secret passage in order to progress in the game and find special pokemon signs. also throughout the game play you unlock different features for your cart such as being able to throw certain items or use a pokeflute to get different shots of certain pokemon this game culminates with a hunt to capture a picture of the final and most elusive pokemon from the orignal game. This game is fun for young people and older pokemon fans although it is not a particularly challenging game for an experienced gamer the joy of this unique game is seeing the pokemon in their "natural state" and discovering all of the cute pokemon poses and trying to capture them on your camera. Lastly I would say that the last time I played snap i finished it in under two hours just to give you an idea of challenge level of this game.

Enough of a snap to avoid most frustrations.

I went hunting for the item Pokemon Snap because I was shopping for a good game that would not be difficult for a young child to play and would also be interesting to him for more than just a few minutes. My child enjoys things that have to do with photography, so seeing this game dealt with taking pictures of animals for a system of "points" immediately intrigued me. Although I've never personally been a big fan of Pokemon or things associated with the products, the characters are very attractive and would presumably be appealing to young children so that was a big plus. The game was rated E for everyone, which was another key thing I'd been looking for. It appeared to me that this game would be a nice addition to the less imaginative games that I'd purchased for my child lately.

And I wasn't proved wrong, this game was a hit. The routine was fairly simple; you take your camera into one course after another and pass by several different Pokemon/animals during your drive, and do your best to snap the best picture of them possible. The game didn't give you intense motion-sickness like several games we see these days, the animals are very cute and moved about to give you a variety of shots during the game play. Afterward, you visit with the Professor whom you are taking these pictures for to present him with what you've done, and you are given points for your good work. Once you collect enough points, you're allowed to enter another course filled with all-new Pokemon to take pictures of.

Another thing we enjoyed very much was the fact that you could save your pictures and put them in an "album" of sorts so you don't lose the best of all of your hard work. The game is fairly easy and enjoyable, we haven't yet beaten the game but it's become very much fun between the two of us.

The only downside I can really come to think of is that the game isn't completely easy. You do become stuck to certain courses if you can't figure out the exact shot the Professor is looking for. There are hidden things in the game you can only access if you are clever enough to figure out what pictures you're supposed to take and that was almost impossible between the two of us before I turned to the assistance of online help. But in my own opinion, you can't have a good game without a few obstacles here and there, even if you aren't personally capable of overcoming them without a sort of cheating assistance.

It's all good fun and I'd recommend this game to anyone amused by photography and searching for a game that doesn't require too much gaming skill. Give it a shot!

Pokemon Snap - An excellent game!

    Created: 05/12/07
Pokemon Snap, ah, where to begin? I bought this game because I remembered playing it around 7 years ago, and I also remembered having a great time with it. This game features 63 of the 151 Pokemon from the Blue, Red, and Yellow Gameboy games, but features a different playing style instead of the RPG style that players of the handheld games will recognize. In this game, the objective is to snap pictures of various Pokemon found in the different levels. The game is incredibly intelligent, and recognizes a good shot from an average and less than average one. To do this, the game has a variety of factors that it uses to rate pictures, such as Size, Technique, Pose, and others. There are also specialty spots, which include Surfing Pikachu and Legendary Pokemon, among others. There is a total of seven levels, each featuring a distinctive type of pokemon, and scenery to match. For example, in the Volcano level, you can expect to find Rapidash, Charizard, and Moltres, while in the Tunnel level, you can find Magnemite, Electabuzz, and Electrode. This game is extremely fun, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good time, Pokemon fan or not. The only bad things I can say about this game is that not all Pokemon are included, but the worst of all? There was no sequel! So, there you have it, a game that anyone can enjoy, whether they be boy or girl, man or woman, pokemaniac, photographer, or just a gamer looking for a fun time.

Perfect Game for Young and Old

    Created: 14/02/11
This game is not about I am going to win and you lost. You know the type of games that are flooding the market now. It is about taking pictures and finding surprises all along the way. I am Grandmother to 4 and I know they like all these video games, but I see what they do. Making them only need or want to be a winner and feeling bad when they can not win everytime. I want them to do there best and have fun. This game you don't have to be the best, but together you can take a ride on a river or cart thru exciting places and find these cute Pokemon Characters and snap their picture. My Grand daughter is 2 and loves to feed the fish. My Grandson who is 3 loves to go the volcano and take pictures of dinosaurs. We all sit around laughing and smiling about what is around each turn. And yes us old people even are laughing and smiling. The controls do not take a scientist to figure out. It is a must own for all parents, Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles of children who want to have a few hours of just plain old fashion American fun. No I won or she won, in this game everyone wins. Most of all you win with all the smiles and laughs - it makes this game a pricless addition to anyone's game collection.
