Product description

Product Information
If collecting rare coins is your hobby, then this 1886 Morgan Dollar will surely enhance your collection. Made up of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper, this Morgan Dollar is 38.1 mm in diameter and weighs 26.73 grams. Tracing back to the Mint Act of 1873 and the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, this silver dollar has deep historical roots. Named after its designer, George T. Morgan, this 1886 Morgan Dollar is part of this Morgan Dollar series that was struck without interruption from 1878-1904, and again in 1921. Interestingly, as a symbol of liberty this silver dollar depicts an American woman, presumably Miss Anna W. Williams, a schoolteacher from Philadelphia, instead of the usual Greek–style figure. This Morgan Dollar is your chance to own an everlasting piece of history.

This coin is easy to find in a full variety of conditions and usually inexpensive to buy. Its numismatic value is modest - even in uncirculated condition its approximate wholesale value listed in Whitman's 2013 Handbook of US Coins is $100. There were 19,963,000 stamped out in 1886 in Philadelphia - in the top ten largest circulations in the history of Morgans! It's a perfect coin to add to a collection in several grades (especially while learning how to grade in the first place) or to use for trading up, or just to keep it for the sake of its weight in silver.
Actual Silver Weight is 0.6957 ozt.

MORGAN SILVER DOLLARS ARE LIKE NO OTHER COIN YOU CAN COLLECT. THEY ARE BIG, HEAVY, LOUD, AND LIKE NOTHING ELSE YOU HAVE USED FOR MONEY. THEY ARE ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH A PERSON OR COIN SHOP. THEY ARE NOT MAKING THEM ANYMORE SO YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT YOU CANNOT REPLACE EVENTUALLY. MORGANS ARE A LEAGUE IN ALL THERE OWN AS NONE OF THE ONES THAT HAVE FOLLOWED ARE NEAR AS REAL AS THE MORGAN. THE MORGAN ARE THE KING OF SILVER DOLLARS.

I am adding to my silver coin collection and needed certain years of Morgans to fill one of the Morgan books that I have. This silver collection is for my 4 year old daughter and a better way to save for her future than a savings account. The price of silver and gold will fluctuate but will be a better investment for her future. Plus should the dollar take a dump then the value for what I paid is a sure thing.

Numismatic value and being a coin collector.

Contains silver, is monetary product and a collectors item.

It is very liquid (easy to sell) and a beautiful piece of US history and art.

Not expensive as compared to gold or platinum. Like that the auctioneer started at $.99 and allow it to run its due course, i.e. true market value.
