|If collecting rare coins is your hobby, then be a proud owner of the 1887 Morgan Dollar. Made up of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper, this Morgan Dollar is 38.1 mm in diameter and weighs 26.73 grams. Tracing its origins back to the Mint Act of 1873 and the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, this silver dollar has deep historical roots. Named after its designer, George T. Morgan, the 1887 Morgan Dollar is a part of the Morgan Dollar series, which was minted from 1878 to 1904, and then again in 1921. Interestingly, as a representation of liberty, this silver dollar depicts an American woman, presumably Miss Anna W. Williams, a school teacher from Philadelphia, instead of the usual Greek–style figure. With an amazing history surrounding it, owning this Morgan Dollar gives you the chance revisit the era!|
