19 by Adele (CD, Jun-2008, Columbia (USA))

I found Adele about year ago on Myspace. I was instantly taken with the single Best for Last. I searched online for the CD because I had to here more from the person who posessed this voice I can only describe as "chunky butter"; unexpected and smooth. I absolutely couldn't find her anywhere not even in the record stores. I waited patiently because I knew she would not get away in the age when her type of music is such a breath of fresh air. I've had the CD in my hands for 3 days now and it's been all I expected. I can't stop listening to it. I still enjoy Best for Last but I seem to repeat Chasing Pavement, Make You Feel My Love which was one of my faves from Garth Brooks. But, I'd have to say Melt My Heart to Stone and Right as Rain are my favorites and touch me personally. I haven't listened to a CD this much since Corrine Bailey Rae. I didn't think to compare Adele to Amy Winehouse until I read a comment here. Although I understand the comparison there is something in Adele's voice that is so well rounded. Her voice reminds me of Sunday afternoon; patient, comfortable, strong but peaceful and not tormented. Her voice makes you want to play her in the background when you're entertaining friends or someone special for the evening. It's nice to see there are at least 12 songs in this world that maintain class, heart and beauty. I can't wait to hear more from Adele.

I saw Adele on Saturday Night Live and loved "Chasing Pavements," which prompted me to purchase the CD. Her smooth, soulful and raspy voice over beautiful piano compositions made it a pleasure to listen to. The lyrics are thought-provoking and the the simple vocal arrangements are soothing. I have had the CD for a month now, and I still listen to it repeatedly every single day.

By far one of, if not the best singer I've ever heard in my life. No cheesey beat box sounds or autotuner on her vocals like many artists today. Her vocal range is absolutely incredible and her lyrics are honest, deep and soul searching.
I didn't know what to expect as her CD was recommended to me by a friend but I was immediately blown away with her depth of sound and the words she uses which can be related to by all. I would have no problem whatsoever recommending anything created by Adele Adkins. I honestly believe she is the best singer of the last 40 years by far.
The CD is put together perfectly to with a slow build up leading to an excellent finish.
Completely pure, honest and simply amazing!!! If there were 10 stars to give I'd have to say this deserves the whole 10!

This is a great CD! Her voice is AMAZING!! I bought this CD about 4 weeks ago and was immediately impressed with her singing talents and the differences in the songs. It's not all the same beats...some songs have a jazzy feel and others remind me of KT Tunstall. I originally heard her on VH1 on the top 20 countdown with the song "Chasing Pavements". I would definitely recommend this CD!

Right now I'm looking for unique vocalists and I found what I'm looking for in Adele. What a unique voice -- both sweet and edgey at the same time. I LOVE this cd. I particularly love it because every track is stimulating to listen to. I put Adele in the mix with some of my other favorites like: Alana Davis, Melody Gardot, Fiona Apple and Paula Cole. Superb!
