AN EXCELLENT COIN TO TOP OFF THE SALE OF A COMPLETE MERCURY DIME SET.

 | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
Created: 10/02/12
THE 1916 MERCURY DIME WAS THE FIRST YEAR OF ISSUE 90% SILVER DIME OF THE ENTIRE MERCURY DIME SERIES, THE 1916-S MERCURY DIME WHICH I PURCHASED WAS TO COMPLETE A MERCURY DIME SET FOR RE-SALE AS A WHOLE COMPLETED ALBUM, THESE FIRST YEAR OF ISSUE DIMES ARE OFTEN SCARCE & VERY HARD TO COME BY WHEN PURCHASING MIXED ROLLS OFF OF EBAY, THEY ARE OFTEN VERY DETERIORATED, HEAVILY CIRCULATED, WORN OUT OR FADED DATED. THIS IS THE PRIMARY REASON WHY I PURCHASED THE 1916-S INDIVIDUALLY TO COMPLETE MY DIME BOOK SET. THE COIN I RECEIVED WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, OBVIOUSLY A COIN THAT SOMEONE HAD PUT AWAY FOR A LONG TIME AND WENT WITHOUT THE HEAVY CIRCULATION YOU OFTEN FIND IN MIXED ROLLS ON EBAY. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE COIN AND EVEN HAPPIER TO TURN OVER THE ENTIRE COMPLETED DIME ALBUM INCLUDING A NICE 1916-D FOR AROUND $2,000.00 AND COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT PURCHASING THAT 1916-S DIME TO FILL THE HOLE IN THE ALBUM.

These 1916-S Mercury dimes were better than expected.

These 1916-S trio of Mercury dimes were actually better in person than the photos alluded to online. I gave the seller 5-stars across the board as the product was better than expected. I have several Mercury dime albums, so these will NOT go to waste in some jar or sock drawer! I applaud the seller for selling such a good set.

A small, striking piece of American History.

This is a must have for any serious collector of American coins. There are still many of the 1916 coins in suitable "eye-appeal" condition to had for a fair price. The winged liberty dime is, in my opinion, the second most intricate, lovely coin ever minted to the Walking Libety half dollar. This is great piece of American history to treasure.
