24 - Season 6 (DVD, 2009, 7-Disc Set)

Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub|Theatrical release: 2007|Rating: Not Rated

Movie synopsis

It's 20 months after the end of season 5 and Jack is back. A series of suicide bombings across the United States has CTU pushed to their limits and the only way to stop the attacks will be to sacrifice their star agent. But are they being misled, and can Jack uncover the real mastermind before the bombings begin? Of course it's going to take more than weapons to stop Bauer from uncovering the truth, but what he finds it just the beginning of a much larger conspiracy involving nation states, the U.S. government, and a host of other factors that make this season of 24 the most exciting to date.

The Best Season Yet

24 The Show that I am severely addicted to. What can be said other than this is the best drama on television?

This season like all other keeps raising the bar. In this season Jack Bauer is released from Chinese custody only to find himself in the hands of terrorists with a vendetta. In typical 24 form he must save the one he loves, do whatever it takes to stop the terrorists, and wait for Chloe to get him the schematics to his PDA !!!!

The special guest stars in this season are phenomenal and the surprises will keep you guessing to the last minute.

CAVEAT: This is your typical season of 24 The characters you like will die, & Jack gets the shaft in the end.

24 - Season 6

I decided to buy it because I had watched all the seasons before. I loved the seasons before and season 6 is action packed all the way. What I really hated about this season; however, is that it just seemed ridiculous to me that the super sleuths at CTU never seem to intercept any of the bad guys cell phone conversations inside CTU. With all the resources the government has, and all the technology CTU has, it really stretches to watch the double agents walk around inside CTU making cell calls completely undetected. The plots are interesting but again nuclear weapons are smuggled inside the U.S. but nobody's heard of radiation detection. It's a bit too hollywood for me.
A friend told me that he found the program to get more and more unrealistic and that's pretty much how I found season 6. Don't get me wrong. I just bought Season 7 because I'm hooked on the series but I really hate programs where I see hollywood's make believe that's so obvious I just want to say, what a load of baloney. Come on - there's a great plot, lots of great acting, lots of action, why mess it up with obvious phoney baloney that only hollywood can achieve to diminish an otherwise great production. I know the producers and staff have gone to great lengths to accurately research the technical aspects of their plots and it just miffed the hell out me that nobody's ever heard to spectrum analzyers or in place monitoring of cell phones inside the super hero's super secret organization, CTU L.A. But then again, it's L.A. so I guess that works in L.A.

Series 6 is still worth watching. It's great entertainment and Keifer Sutherland continues to save the world in his great style of acting. The behind the scenes bonus material is great stuff .

All in all it's worth watching.

24 - Season 6

I bought and watched the first five seasons of 24, and even though the series contains a lot of violence and treachery, I was enthralled with the show. All of the actors do an incredible job in their roles. I just wish Chloe would lighten up and not frown so much.

Season 6 is another matter. It is much too violent, there is too much torture and death, and every other person is a traitor, which makes the plot somewhat ridiculous. The fact that Jack Bauer killed Curtis is inexcusable. I was tempted to quit watching right then and there. Curtis was one of the best characters on the show and should not have been killed off. He could have quit and later on down the line realized the error of his ways and rejoined the CTU team. His death was a huge loss. (Maybe the writers could consider using the same plot they wrote for Jack; just pretend that Curtis is dead, for whatever reason, and bring him back. So what if it's a repetition of what happened to Jack? It's not like there aren't repetitions throughout the entire series.

On the whole, though, I am still enthralled with the show. Kiefer Sutherland is an excellent actor and deserves all the awards that a person in his role on a TV series can garner. (I disagree with killing him off when the series comes to an end. Just let him reunite with Kim, get forgiveness from Curtis after he is brought back, fall in love with a lovely lady, and ride off into the sunset with his beloved. - THE END)

JACK IS BACK

Created: 12/04/08
My adult daughter and I hooked on 24 and have found the best way to watch is to wait until the season is out on DVD,no commercials, can pause for interuptions, can go back if you did not catch something ect..... 24 is the best suspense show out there and season 6 doesn't deviate. However, there is more graphic violence so this season is not for the faint of heart. I am pretty tough but there were a few scenes where I really turned my head or shut my eyes. Jack is back, but he is a little different too. Oh by the way, Guess who is president this season. It was definitely a surprise to me. All I can say, is if you like suspense and have liked previous seasons of 24 then you need to see this season too. If you have not seen the show, then you need to get the other 5 seasons and start from the beginning and I guarantee you will be hooked too.

24 - Does it get any better?

Jack Bauer... need I say more?
If Jack Bauer and Chuck Norris got into a fight... it wouldn't matter, the Earth would explode!

This is a very action packed series, I strongly suggest watching all 6 seasons in order to get the full story. With Season 7 starting 1/2009 you'll want to get caught up with the whole story line. I hear an old character is making a come-back that will be jaw-dropping... imagine that, a twist in the 24 plot!

This series is full of amazing fight sequences, special effects (explosions), thrilling seat of your pants suspense, and plot twists that will leave you speachless. This is home entertainment at it's best. I've not seen a better program.
