Excellent Language System
Created: 05/02/11
I have an hour commute to work (one way) and thought a great use of my time would be to learn a new language. I heard the Pimsleur language system was all audio which suited my needs perfectly and plus it is rated one of the best language systems. After completing Pimsleur German I, I was very impressed with how much I learned and how well I was already speaking German. I immediately purchased Pimsleur German II and I am finding this set equally as impressive albeit far more challenging. I am actually beginning to speak abit more conversationally. My only critique to Pimsleur is that it would be nice if the instructions spoken in German could be spoken a bit slower. I would definitely recommend this system.

Pimsleur is the best of many

Pimsleur and the government's Foreign Service sets are the best language learning materials. Teach Yourself and Colloquial are good, too. Sets like these teach you to speak the language. Avoid sets that serve up noun lists (like overpriced Rosetta Stone) and travel oriented duds. Use Pimsleur then re-sell it. Pimsleur is terrific.
