I hope everyone who's struggling with diabetes or a weight problem will buy this book. I went through the program at LCA in Oklahoma, and although I don't have diabetes, my health and lifestyle has changed for the better in so many ways. I watched as people in wheelchairs literally walked out the door at the end of the program, many having stopped or lowered medications. I lost 45 pounds, have so much more energy, and can look forward to a longer, more enjoyable life because I've learned how to take care of myself, body, mind and spirit. If you're feeling hopeless, this is the book for you! Go for it! You can take control!

This book is very easy to read and they explain quite a bit of the information so that you can understand what they are talking about. Plus you get support from a website that the authors sponsor. Much of what they write makes sense and many people have written that the program worked for them so I am anxious to see if it will work for my mother. I even adopted many of their ideas into my own diet. Much of what they wrote is supported by other health concious books and websites so the material was not surprising to me. They are upfront that this is a vegetarian diet and the foods they recommend are needed to get your diabetes under control. I liked the book so much that I have also ordered the supporting cookbook. I think that this book is a weath of information for people who have diabetes and their loved ones should read it to get a basic understanding for health concerns and to be supportive of their basic needs.
