Movie synopsis

Bruce Lee was immortalized in his films as a martial arts master and first-class entertainer. ENTER THE DRAGON was the first martial arts film that American audiences had witnessed, and was actually produced in both Hong Kong and Hollywood. Interestingly, ENTER THE DRAGON also set the stage for non-traditional, culturally specific narratives to make their way into Hollywood.Bruce Lee plays a kung fu master recruited by a foreign government to infiltrate the island of a megalomaniac martial artist named Han. Han's bodyguard is also found to have killed Lee's sister, giving Lee a personal vendetta to fight for. The Hall of Mirrors sequence towards the end of the film is now famous, as are Lee's incredibly gymnastic martial arts abilities. This trend-setting film holds up as an entertaining, engaging action movie, more than 30 years later.

Enter The Dragon

This was Bruce Lee's final movie before his death and now the movie
is a certified martial arts classic-and was shot on location in Hong
Kong. Lee plays a monk named Lee who enters a brutal championship
tournament to which only the best in the world are invited. His
athletic prowess lands him in the match, but he is also serving as
a spy for the British government-and he is out to prove that the
contests director, Han, is also a player in the drug trade. Plenty
of Kung-fu fighting ensues, as one of the entrants is Abdul Jabbar
(basketball player) who is definitely the tallest player Lee will
ever fight-a great fighting scene ensues between the two-possibly
one of the two or three of the best in any Kung fu movies (the other
being between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris in Return of the Dragon).
John Saxoon (Nightmare on Elm Street, Joe Kidd, Kung Fu tv series
season 1, Magnum PI season 4, A-team tv series season 1, etc) made
many kung-fu and Hong Kong based movies in this era and co-stars as
one of the fighters also in this movie. The director here Robert
Clouse is one of the kung fu movie director that made a name in this
type of movies (Gymkata, Battle Creek Brawl, China O Brien, etc)
but this was definitely the high point of his directing and he did
an excellent job here also. A great classic kung - fu movie that
you will not tire of-even when you watch it repeatedly. Will give
most people a full nights entertainment.

Bruce Lee the King Of Martial Arts ever!!!!!

Created: 07/05/08
The DVD is excellent. Truly, I'am female Bruce Lee fan 'til now...Even the movie is old, you cannot find a better martial arts movie with real Bruce Lee. There's a lot of movie copying him; They using Bruce Lee's pictures and his name to get some attention. I read the reviewed by JAckieChad. It's okay you want Bruce Lee vs. Jackie Chan
but when it comes to real fighting; I don't think you will like it. Because
Bruce Lee can knock him out. Jackie Chan started stunt man before he became big star; Bruce Lee already teaching martial arts and fought a lot of tough man before he became superstar!!!In sparring and real street fighting Bruce Lee never lost. He always win! I heard Jackie Chan said; He is inspired of Bruce Lee Martial Arts a lot. And he is Bruce Lee fans too.

It's true Jackie Chan is a good actor and comedian, I like him too but when it comes to real fighting...still no one can defeat Bruce Lee. Don't forget to watch Bruce documentary. Just go to menu then select special features...It showed how great he is...as a martial artist, philosopy and a teacher. He explained how effective and accurate his martial arts skills.

A Crowning Achievement

Created: 28/06/09
What a wonderful movie! This is possibly Bruce Lee's finest work and is the movie that catapulted him to international success and garnered him much respect within the United States. This movie has lived on through the years to inspire many in many different fields, professionals and everyday people alike. From the Wu-Tang Clan all the way to your corner martial arts club, this movie and its potent star have reached through the cracks of American society and given it a wake up call of epic proportions. Long live Bruce Lee.

An Archetype that will never be repeated.

Created: 18/05/08
Bruce Lee brought China to North America and the rest of the world. Enter the Dragon is a classic film. It is important to remember that Mr. Lee was a learned and well read man. He was proud of his Chinese culture and wanted to present it, and his philosophy, to the world. He broke through so many barriers with this movie and with his approach to martial arts. Enter the Dragon is a classic and enjoyable action flick. but one can also see the refinement of Mr. Bruce Lee's philosophy in this film.

Great

Created: 26/03/09
This a great movie and Bruce Lee's only major american made film. Its great to own my own copy of it finally. Make sure when you buy a copy of it, that it is recorded in the proper zone or it is capable of being changed to your zone. Some have limited, like five (5) times it can be changed. Once it has been changed it stays that way until changed to another zone again.
