Like the previous album, SOUL PROVIDER features two covers. Bolton trots out an homage to Ray Charles' famous version of "Georgia on My Mind" (featuring background-vocal work from disco diva Vicki Sue Robinson, AWOL on record since "Turn the Beat Around"), and unearths his own "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You"- originally written for '80s icon Laura Brannigan. Bolton also duets with Susi Benson ("From Now On") and collaborates with legendary Brill Building tunesmiths Barry Mann and Cynthia Weill on the grandiose ballad "Stand up for Love."

Soul Provider

Created: 22/12/08
I bought this album for two friends of mine who are having marital trouble. Music has always been a very inspirational part of my life. It has helped open my eyes and ears to many things in life , I was hoping it would do the same for them.

They were fighting continously., One song on the album says it best, " How can we be lovers if we can't be friends ?". Because if you can not be friends first , the loving may and often does dissipate.

I thought the song " Stand up for Love " may help them both forget about present conflicts , think of the children and realize that there is nothing two people can not overcome if they really love each other.

I do not know if their marriage will be salvaged , but these songs have been very inspirational to the male friend and have helped him to overcome the hurt love can cause in a relationship.

Michael Bolton really puts his heart and soul into all of his songs, which makes for the very best of singers. He sings all of these songs the best , although I know a couple of these songs have been done by other singers.

I could not find the c.d. elsewhere for a reasonable price , so I remembered e-bay. I have always been able to find anything I need on this site.
Whether it be older or newer.
