Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends introduces new characters to the franchise and elaborates and expands on the story of the original Samurai Warriors. Players will find new weapons and an array of fresh items and fighting techniques. The expansion will also bring back the original game's character growth system, enabling the creation of beefed-up characters. There are also all-new scenarios, new characters and even a historical reference guide. Gameplay upgrades include adjustments to game balance and the aforementioned more robust character development system. | |

I decided to buy the XL game because I already have the original game, and once I'm done with original game, I can play the XL game.
On a game save from the orignial game, the XL game acts more like an extension pack, or it be played as a stand-alone game.
