Batman: The Animated Series - Vol. 2 (DVD, 2004, 4-Disc Set)

The intro for this series is among the most iconic in all of animation and sets the tone for every episode. This is my favorite show of all time for many reasons. I grew up with it and it brings back so many memories every time I watch it. The characters - heroes, villains, and civilians alike - are expertly animated from the best portrayal of The Clown Prince of Crime - in my opinion - to date to the Dark Knight himself. The voice acting is excellent as well with great performances like Efrem Zimbalist, Jr as Alfred Pennyworth, Richard Moll as Two-Face, Michael Ansara as Mr. Freeze, Kevin Conroy using an unforgettable duo of voices for Bruce Wayne and Batman, and arguably the most entertaining is Mark Hamill as The Joker. The storylines are extremely intelligent for a kids' show and mix drama, action, and humor with the greatest of ease. Personally, the most obvious thing to love about the show is its animation, and rightfully so. Its dark backgrounds, either blood-red or stormy grey skies, cars from the 1940s, and art deco architecture make for the best and most intoxicating environment EVER created in animated show, hands down. It's as if someone planted a time capsule and kept digging it up and adding things to it and then made a show based around a superhero with it. So for fans of the Dark Knight this is not a recommendation, this is a plea that you will buy all of the dvd boxsets of Batman: The Animated Series.

All of Batman the Animated Series are great! Volume two introduces my favorite character, Harley Quinn and made some new animation choices that I liked even better than volume one as well. A mus have for any Batman fan.
