Editorial Reviews
Ranked #93 in NME's list of the 'Greatest Albums Of All Time.'
NME

[Jackson] displayed a thrilling command of pop-dance dynamics, revealing talents only glimpsed on his four Motown solo albums...
Q

5 stars (out of 5) - ...one of the greatest albums ever made...all the songs are great, the sound is new and different, and it was a big part of pleasant people's lives at the time....some of the best melodies in the history of pop...
Q (19990901)

It's only right that maybe the greatest single-artist disco album was the work of that generation's greatest dancer.
Spin

5 stars out of 5 - ...Was and remains a perfect album....the rhythm never lets up, and neither does the quality....Never has Michael sounded so self-assured, his talents so right for the pop moment...

Very Good First Album

Created: 12/07/09
Micheal Jackson's first album "Off The Wall" is an example of the great work that was to come from this talented artist. The track,"She's out of My Life" is the best and near the end of the tracks. "Girlfriend," is very gimmicky and features Micheal playing with how high he can pitch his voice. "Off The Wall," is a good party song. The demo of "Rock With You" is very good and interesting because the narator for the interviews with Quincuy Jones and Rod temperton explains that Micheal's sister Janet and brother Germaine played the cow bell and other intstraments on the song. The interviews with Qincy Jones and Rod Temperton are annoyingly placed between the songs. The album ends on highnote with "Burn This Out".

Every song is great. A classic album that will be around for years to come. Best songs: Off the wall, working day and night, girlfriend, and rock with you are timeless classics. I have always wanted the cd but once Michael passed, I knew that I had to have it.

Worth Listening To And Experiencing

Created: 31/05/10
I liked the music because I had owned the album when I was eighteen and it brought back those memories. Out of all of his albums I found this album was his best. Each song I've have heard on the radio then and even sometimes now. Most albums only have one song to like this has several. I think it is more successful than many of his later albums except for maybe Thriller. The nose jobs followed this album and his ability to allow the music to flow creatively seemed stressed where as this album was all young and new which comes with creative ideal youth which he was at this time in his life. The music captures the genre of the disco era and it's night club energy and atmosphere. It is a cd definitely no matter what style of music you like worth listening too.

Michael Jackson Off the Wall

Created: 09/09/09
I was expecting to like at least 75% of the songs on this album and
it was probably partly my fault,...not familiar with his music at that time
he produced it. I did instantly recognize about 3 songs that I really enjoyed!
My intention was to get more of his dance tunes with the lengendary background
musicians that incorporate synthesizers, and unique instrumentation of smooth
scale rips, runs, and solos that blended so well with michael's vocal talent
we all loved so much! I am hoping to hit a home run with his Thriller Album!
I would say this album for me, considering what I like,...deserves about 40%
for what I was wanting, and expecting, however this may appeal more to the disco beat crowd and those more familiar with that early Michael development era. The price was right, and it deserves the collectors attention!
