look elsewhere for Barry Brown's best !

Created: 06/06/06
This is an extremely cheap packaging of tracks produced by Niney The Observer in the late seventies originally released as "Barry". It's definately not his best, more like his worst and also is extremely short at like 33 minutes. Some of the songs are embarrisingly lackadasical covers and there's absolutely no energy in any of them. I would recommend practically any other Barry Brown CD of the era to this. There is another best of Barry Brown CD out there with a blue cover that includes many of his best songs and appears to be more than an hour long. I would recommend, in order:
1) Midnight Rock At Channel One (Abraham)
2) Rich Man Poor Man 1978-80 (Moll Selekta)
3) King Jammy Presents Barry Brown
4) The afforementioned best of, which I don't have but includes his Showcase LP plus many more.
