Movie synopsis

Robin Williams goes berserk as Rainbow Randolph, the disgraced host of a children's television show, in director Danny DeVito's fast-paced satire, DEATH TO SMOOCHY. Busted by the Feds for accepting a bribe to get a child on his show, Randolph gets booted from his network, Kidnet, and is replaced by the earnest do-gooder Sheldon Mopes (Edward Norton), who plays Smoochy, a loveable pink rhino with a strong resemblance to Barney. Sheldon sums up his own personality with a classic line, "When my brothers and I played cowboys and Indians, I was always the Chinese railroad worker." As Sheldon becomes a superstar, Randolph plots his revenge. Sheldon's refusal to push cheap toys and sugary drinks angers the Kidnet execs, especially tough-as-nails Nora (Catherine Keener). Sheldon also runs up against the Irish mob and his agent (DeVito) gets him into trouble with a corrupt charity. Meanwhile, Nora finds herself falling for the principled performer.Robin Williams is amazing, completely shedding his "nice guy" persona and making the shockingly foulmouthed kiddie show host simultaneously hilarious and frightening. Norton does a great job of winning the audience over to his buffoonish but truly good hearted character. He and Keener lend heart to the scathingly funny script by Adam Resnick.

Death To Smoochy

I absolutely loved this movie. This is one of Robin Williams' best performances yet.

The movie starts with Rainbow Randolph (Williams), who is the host of a children's television show, getting busted by the Feds for accepting a bribe to get a child onto his show. He gets fired from the network and is replaced with Sheldon Mopes, who plays Smoochy, a pink loveable rhino. When Sheldon becomes a hit, Rainbow is plotting revenge against him for taking his place. And the plot goes from there.

The cast is great, it includes: Robin Williams, Edward Norton, Danny DeVito, and Jon Stewart.

A must have for any Robin Williams fan!

This movie is hands down one of my favorites! It is a drak comedy starring, Edward Norton, Robin Williams, Danny Devito and a few others. The story is about Rainbow randolph,(Robin Williams), who gets fired from a kids show network from breaking the law. The network then finds Smoochy,(Edward Norton), who is an all around great guy with great morals. Rainbow Randolph wants his job back and wants to eventually take Smoochy out of the picture, but other problems come up along the way for both Smoochy and Randolph.
The movie is filled with great laughter! Be warned it is not a childrens movie! There is a lot of cursing and a lot of violence involved. All in all its a great movie for a rainy day and it will defenitely get a lot of laughs out of you!

Death to Smoochy

I think it's a great movie. i love dark comedy and robin williams does an amazing job at playing sick rolls these days. not to mention i have this tick about stuffed suits; they sort of bother me in a way. so, watching so many enormously overstuffed animals get berated and beaten makes me happy. one of those movies for anyone who detests barny and the gay alien cabaret quartet.

I've always liked this movie since it came out. It's Robin Williams as a crazy clown & Edward Norton as a sweet rhino. If you like the wacked out crazy style of movies that make you laugh and go "What in the world?" You should get this movie. It is not for kids though.
