Reversal was excellent

I bought the movie Reversal because I was a wrestler when I was young and now my son wrestles just like I did. In the movie I see much of what our family experiences with weight control, training, and the sacrifices we take to get every competitive edge.
This is a real wrestling movie for real wrestling fans. I can not say enough good things about the content and story line although I would have liked to see a little more from when Leo was younger. It was great how the father encouraged him when he was very young and the things he gave up in his own life to make sure he did everything within his means to make sure his son succeeded. I try to create the same type of conversations with my own son about doing his best and how hard work pays off.
If you have a wrestler in your family then chances are you will really relate to this film. Pay close attention and try to be open minded because there are points that it may look like the father is trying to live his dreams through his son but this is not the case at all. He is doing what he can the only way he knows how to make sure his child will receive a college education and a better life than he has.
I took something from this movie and used it in my own life and realized just how close I am with my own son, watch the movie and you will know what I mean. I asked my child "who is your best friend" expecting him to say his pal from school but my son replied. "You are dad" just like in the movie. It was a great feeling.
We need more movies about real wrestling and less of the fake WWE drama.

Reversal, A great movie for wrestlers

This is an amazing movie that is a must see for any wrestler. It is amazingly realistic when it comes wrestling scenes and the drastic measures wrestlers used to take to make weight and to do the best they could. This is a true story however, so it is also a great movie about the trials and tribulations that one experiences while growing up. A must-see.

Having grown up around wrestling, I don't feel this is true to life. Maybe there are some Dads out there who are this obesses, but the movie really is about the Dad and not the wrestler. It might help some wrestling Dads. Wrestling is one of those sports you either love or hate. This movie does not help the sport.

My son is a high school wrestler and wrestling is his life. This is one of the few films which accurately portrays a high school wrestler. My son loves the film so I got it for him for Christmas - he was very happy.

the story of a father trying to make more of his son than he became. If you have kids in sports it will definitely hit home.
