Rayvon has a lighter style than the throaty growl of his partner--at times recalling the delicate vibrato of Maxi Priest, who guested on Rayvon's HEAR MY CRY--which is most effective on the reggae-tinged cuts such as the title track and "Playboy Bunny," and most interesting when he manages a seamless reggae/hip-hop crossover such as "In the Wintertime" or a dancehall track such as "Do You Wanna Ride." Of the two pure reggae tracks here "Danger Zone" is a smooth, poppy exercise, while "English Pound" ("I saw this girl, so round like an English pound") is a fun throwback to classic '60s reggae style which hints that maybe Rayvon was born a decade too late.
