In the wake of that seismic alteration comes Lillix, illustrating the notion that if one Avril is good, then four should be great. In fact, they very nearly beat A.V. at her own game. While they are no slouches in either the accessible pop hooks department or in camera-friendliness, they frequently come a lot closer than you-know-who to genuinely punky moments. Imagine if you will a cleaned-up, image-consulted version of the Donnas and you'll be on the right track. And while Lavigne's rock memory seems to go back no further than Blink 182, Lillix closes FALLING UPHILL with a cover of a classic from new wave/power-pop cult heroes the Romantics ("What I Like About You"), giving those old enough to remember the first days of MTV a glimmer of hope for the future.

Rocker girls are great!

Created: 02/11/06
This was my first girl rock band purchase. Let me tell you, this is no ordinary girl group. They all play their own intruments and have an awesome sound. The vocals are astonishing and when the sisters in the band harmonize, their songs get even better. I cannot tell you enough how great it is to hear a rock band comprised soley of women that isn't fake or meant to be manufactured to teeny boppers. They're a real band and have great taste in music. Their cover of "What I Like About You" is GREAT! They sing about real stuff, for instance in "Dirty Sunshine", they talk about that time of month and do it elegantly. Of course, there's a few love-gone-wrong songs in there but I am very satisfied with Lillix's album. A must have!

Lillix' Falling Uphill - Better Than Avril Lavigne, Not As Good As Canadian Bacon

Created: 01/06/03

Pros:
songwriting, vocals
Cons:
some of the material is not that rousing
They might be cute as all hell, but British Columbian all girl outfit Lilliix are not just your ordinary girl group. They play their own instruments and list Queen as one of their influences. Since they hail from Canada, Lillix has been trying real hard to shake comparisons to that other Canadian - Avril Lavigne . But what Lillix is not, is a pseudo-punk girl group. They re a quartet - Louise Burns on bass, Kim Urhahn on drums, guitarist Tasha-Ray Evin and her sibling, keyboardist Lacey-Lee and they have a real viable talent. Because Lillix has worked with such producers as Linda Perry .

One Avril Is Enough, But Do We Really Need Four Of Her Running Around?!

Pros:
It's catchy; great first single.
Cons:
I'm sick of this whole Canadian pop/rock thing by now.
The Main Idea In 2003, Canadian rock/pop group Lillix released their debut album, Falling Uphill , to paltry sales and terrible reviews. And can you really be surprised? I think the music industry has grown tired of all of these little Canadian punk/pop people and is completely oversaturated with them, and that is clearly evident on Falling Uphill . The girls worked with the Matrix, Glen Ballard, Linda Perry, and John Shanks - who have all collaborated with Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette, Pink, and Michelle Branch, respectively - to create an extremely fabricated, monotonous sound that does.

"It's About Time": the exposure on the CD you should check out before "Tomorrow".

Pros:
This record has very catchy lyrics on most of the songs. Very good musical talent.
Cons:
A few (though very few, admittedly) are just not catchy.
When I first saw the music video for Lillix's hit song "It's About Time" on the TV, I knew I had to buy the CD. I loved the lyrics, the music-- the whole thing. I wanted that CD SO BAD. My dad ordered it while I was at summer camp, and brought it in the car upon picking me up. I popped the disc out, and slid it into my Diskman. "It's About Time" was the third track, but I decided to hear the others. As usually happens, some tracks on the CD were even better than their hit. I really loved "Tomorrow": the first song on the track had a wonderful chorus that, surprisingly, didn't even mention the.
