) I was looking for a test monitor to use with different operating systems. Hence the need for a RGB mode processor controlled TFT LCD, the Gem GM-171B.
With a native SXGA 1028 X 1024 80-H 78-V, it was easy to compile drivers for the many different Linux distros, multi booting with various Windows OS's. The Gem was always able to adapt to the X and firmware with a push of the hot key.
I am very happy with the performance, it's sleek clean look and VESA mount. I am now looking for another, if my wife doesn't read this first:-)
