) If you have a boy and haven't started reading him Calvin and Hobbes, then get to it! Absolutely the funniest comic strip about a boy and his "tiger". My son (7) has read "The Essential Calvin and Hobbes" at least three times and laughs out loud each time he does. These are classics. Great way to get your reluctant reader to read. Great vocabulary and comprehension building. Great illustrations. Just plain great.

Calvin and Hobbes are cutest, funniest characters ever. I've never purchased a book full of cartoons until these guys! I used to have a doll named Sordora and she took the heat for a many of my messes.
Mr Watterson does an excellent job of capturing the essence of a naughty, bright and adorable six year old. My personal favorites are when his dad starts losing points on the popularity poll. Too funny!

This book was in perfect condition, & shipped quickly

My entire family loves to read the books about Calvin & Hobbes. Bill Watterson brings Hobbes to life in such a refreshingly new way. If you have never read any of his books then you have missed out on some very funny and touching stories. I purchased this book as a Christmas present for our twelve year old granddaughter. She had read the three books we already owned and she asked for some new ones for Christmas.

I would call this a decent C&H book. It's not my absolute favorite, nor is it AS large as some of the others, but if you're having a bad day, crack it open and let Calvin & Hobbes carry on their shinanigans.
p.s. - I wouldn't call it the essential C&H. I believe there are larger ones out there. Cost wise, it might be more efficient to by a bigger one. But this does have a style all its own, which is worthwhile for the C&H collector.

As always Watterson doesn't disappoint. My 8 year old loves this book and insists I read him at least 8 pages before bed every night!
