Ask this Old House - Complete First Season (DVD, 2004, 4-Disc Set)

Even if you are not familiar with the guys from This Old House; you will soon be comfortable with these same fellows in the series of Ask This Old House. The disks are full of tips and ideas for any do it yourselfer of all levels in carpentry, plumbing and landscapeing. Though the products and tools may change and improve, the time tested methods are still very useful. Tom Silva shows me tips I can use in my garage when doing my woodworking, and Richard is great with unscrambling the plumbing terminology. Roger is the landscaper and really knows his way around the yard and what works best in all climates. I look forward to more series being added to this first series of the show. Just the entertainment value is worth the experience.

An excellent documentary! I bought this dvd set as a Christmas present for my father-in-law. He loves the show and watches it whenever it's on the television. This Old House is a show where they remodel old houses and fix them up. My father-in-law is a carpenter is loves to watch this kind of stuff! I would reccomend this 4 dvd set to anyone that enjoys remodeling or that kind of thing. The show could be watched just for pleasure or could be watched for all the information that it gives off while being watched! My father-in-law loved the dvd set and the orignal show on television too!

I like watching craftmen showing their trades. There is nothing wrong in being handy around the house, and one can learn watching This Old House. Also, these episodes are complete with no time periods edited to make room for commercials and other interruptions. So, in all I enjoy watching these DVD's. It is my opinion that the people involved in this series did an excellent job, and should be told so. Keep up the good work! I cannot find anything that I dislike about the series. I will be waiting for more seasons to be available in the very near future on DVD. I will purchase them all.

Ask This Old House Season 1 is a great DVD set to look into for anyone that loves working on projects around their house. The series contains hints focusing on gardening, plumbing, general housework, painting, etc. The cast of Ask This Old house keep the acting on a lighter end, typically joking and enjoying their jobs. Whether you're a beginner or expert, this series is work checking out. It's 4 dvd's contain 26 episodes, which are easy to navigate. Overall, I'd give this set a 5/5

This set covers the entire first season shot in 2004. Video format is 4:3 in standard definition inter-laced. The VIDEO is really POOR, a progressive transfer would have been much better and it would not have cost the producers any more money. If you pay the asking price of $74, US dollars , you are paying to much.
