A Father and Sun Road Trip

Created: 31/08/10
Flynn (Alessandro Nivola) is working his way through life as a food inspector when he gets fired, then his girlfriend (Amanda Peet), leaves him and he gets a letter from his father (Christopher Walken) telling him that he is dying. Walken is an old con man who goes through life living off of other people. Flynn's problem is that he does not talk to his father anymore but decides that he better go visit him and find out what is going on. The two take a road trip to Arizona where Walken is hoping to get some experimental treatment to help extend his life.

This movie reminded me of Little Miss Sunshine. It was slow but entertaining and Walken gives his usual great performance in a way that only he can do.

The movie has appearances by: Sharon Stone, Dean Cain, and Peter Coyote.

I would recommend this movie for anyone who wants to see life as it really is.

Walken at his best / Funny slice of life road trip film

Created: 17/02/11
When con man Nat (Christopher Walken) convinces his straitlaced son, Flynn (Alessandro Nivola), to join him on a road trip, the two learn a few things about each other as they drive to New Mexico, attempting to live on no more than $5 a day. While they scam their way across the country, Flynn deals with the resentment he feels for his estranged father.

Go for a ride on an emotional roller coaster with this film. Witty and realistic. The title doesn't do the film justice. See it, you'll enjoy this film.
