A Futuristic Battlefield and Great Graphics

Created: 11/12/09
I had to give this game a 5 of 5 , but on a scale of 10 , I would give it an 8 - due to a lack of inner building allowances for battles to be fought from the inside outwards. There is not much allowance for much play inside the buildings themselves.

Due to a lack of inner building battles , the game makes you feel like you are mostly vulnerable , rather than safe. Especially because there are tanks , helicopters and jet fighters flying around. The singleplayer mode is absolutely fantastic , less the feeling of running through mainstreets with no options to take cover in a building , and then find multiple routes to the objectives.

The graphics are bright and clear , unlike some other games. The weapons are good and include drones or radio controlled weapons. Although , there is no allowance made to pick up enemy weapons or ammunition , so you have to run back sometimes to the provided ammo boxes. There aren't enough ammo boxes in my view , especially when you play on the hardcore difficulty. The game would have been much better if you could pick up enemy ammunition , weapons and health thereof , after killing an enemy. That would make it so that even if you were attacked by an enemy in a tank or vehicle , you could respond with a rocket launcher. And with open buildings , you could take cover by running inside them , while looking for an enemy to kill so that you could acquire weapons and ammunitions.

The game performance is good if you can see your way past these mistakes that drag down the playability of the game. The storyline makes up for alot of it's shortcomings , with excellent communication and objective tracking commands.

If you like FPS's , you will like this game. And if you like flying jets and helicopters over battlefields that include tanks , you will love this game. The enemy AI are good enough to stop you from reaching your objectives , but what really stops you is the lack of being able to replenish your ammunition or defend yourself against tanks.

This game has a future based on the storyline that is exciting. To play multiplayer you will need to patch the game from version 1.0 to 1.1 to 1.2 to 1.3 , = 2gb of hard drive space. If this game had more ability to enter buildings and collect ammunition , I would give it a 10 of 10 and highly recommend it , both offline and on. That would make being a sniper an intense part of the game.

Being that the game is excellent overall , I would highly recommend it for FPS players.

Fun, but lacking in multiplayer

Created: 02/08/09
I purchased this game hoping for strong multiplayer support. Unfortunately, although there are many servers listed, only a few have a regular population of players. If you like alot of aircraft, armor, and other vehicles, you will enjoy this game. For me personally, I think there are way to many aircraft. On one map, each side has 2 fighters, and 2 or 3 choppers. This is ok if there are alot of players. But when theres only 12 or less players, and half of them are flying, it makes for an unbalanced game. Also, the developers of this game decided to put 'boundries' in the maps. If you stray to far out of a predetermined area on the map, you start to lose health. On some of the maps, this is very annoying, especially if your in a jetfighter. Your confined to a relatively small flying area. The game also has glitches. Like the infamous 'wall glitch'. Where the player can get half of their body to blend into a wall or other object. You can walk right up to them and not see them. The flip side to this, is during certain times in the game, the opposing team player is highlighted with a red neon triangle. This is a bit amateurish, and I really don't get the point. Reminds me of a hack I've seen in COD4.

Graphics are good if you have a high end system with everything set to maximum. Singleplayer is a little to easy on the normal setting, and it does'nt take long to get through the entire game. Maybe 5 or 6 hours depending on your experience level playing FPS's. The game needs to have more maps, but even with the current maps, game play can get intense with 30 or more players. Overall the game can be fun to play. If you can get this game for under $30 go for it. Either that, or save your money and wait for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising FPS to come out in couple of months.

Great game, great graphics

Created: 20/10/09
The best feature about this game is the graphics. The world looks great! The controls are really easy to figure out. The single player campaign is really short, so if you're not into multiplayer games, then this probably isn't for you. The variety of weapons in the game is great. I especially like the robots that you can control.
