    Absolutely amazing RPG

    Created: 29/07/08
Dragon Warrior IV debuted in North America in '92, as one of, if not the best RPG on the NES. As the final Dragon Warrior on the beloved NES and with the richest game play, compelling story, and memorable characters out of all of them so far, it is highly sought after.

The story is broken up into five chapters. The first four each detailing the adventures of the main Hero's (your) future companions; in the fifth the player searches for those in previous chapters to go on a journey that legends are made of. A classic battle of 'good vs. evil', revenge, mystery, hope, and restoration; with a cast of characters you'll not soon forget: from a soldier of a great country, to a merchant father and husband, to a princess, to dancers and fortune tellers.

The game play is just like most other RPGs, turn based battles that reward exp, gold, and sometimes items at the end which the player uses to level up or purchase items. However, Dragon Warrior IV brings something to the table that most other RPGs don't have: the "Tactics" option.

With this, the player can give the other characters (those met in chapters 1-4) set orders on how to battle. Whether it be strictly "offense", "defense", "save MP" (Magic Points), or just "try out". (This lets the other characters experiment with their attacks.) This innovation would later be used in Dragon Quest V and VI. It's really fun to be able to play around with the "Tactics" and it adds in some cases, to the level of difficulty.

Dragon Warrior IV is very well known for even further expounding the world and game play than the previous titles, this game is absolutely huge. Loads of items, spells, towns, areas, and dungeons to use and explore.

At the time of the release, not much had improved graphic wise over Dragon Warrior III, but that's okay, because these are still amazing for the time. (Some bosses even have very fluid movement that will give you the willies.)

The music is some of the best in the series at the time and still is epic and mood setting. Really, you'll want this pumped up.

This game is simply amazing and worth shelving out the cash for. You shouldn't have any regrets purchasing it, highly recommended.

A game no role player should be with out.

Probably the best RPG for the Nintendo. IV small quests before the huge final quest, in which you must find all the adventures of the previous quests. This game came out in "92" I remember it boasting a pretty hevy price tag back then, about $65 to $75 bucks. I probably should have just bought the game back then because i spent alot of money renting it from the local grocery store. If you were or still are a fan of final fantasy, dont let a copies of this pass you buy. Oh! one more thing you won't find this game on any other console,(well execpt in Japan) not even a reissue with better graphics or anything.

    the best in the series

    Created: 08/04/09
this happens to be the best in the dragon warrior series in my opinon dragon warrior IV is a new story that does not continue off the erdrick saga(I-III) this time the game is split into chapters and play a buch of different characters in the first few chapters and in the last chapter you get to play your character and unite with the characters you played in the previous chapters to fight the ultimate evil this is a rare gem for anyone's nes collection i would recommend this to a nes owner but for someone who has nintendo ds i would get that version for a little smaller price tag

    Dragon Warrior 4 IV

    Created: 27/01/08
One of the most in depth all time classic RPG's for the NES (Nintendo). The 4th and last in the NES line of Dragon Warrior games. There is a strategy guide and a rare world map that can be found for this game as well. I suggest you get them to really have a chance at mastering this game.

    Brings back memories...

    Created: 29/02/08
I was one of those kids that never got any of the NES gear that I asked for each year at christmas... Eventually, I had to save up to buy my own system, thinking that I would let mom and dad off the hook, and just buy me games...NOPE!

For over 15 years all I had was the mario/duck hunt cart that came with my system. I would rent a game, or borrow a friend's game to play it...

For everyone that loves the modern role playing games of todays gaming consoles, Dragon Warrior is one of the games that started it all! Love it! -Dew
