The Sims 2: Castaway Stories (PC, 2008)

The Sims Castaway Stories is the third game from The Sims Stories, a series of pick-up and play laptop games from EA's The Sims franchise. The Sims Stories allows fans to get creative and stay connected by keeping in touch with friends by using IM and email – even while playing the game in its own window. Following the theme of the wildly-entertaining The Sims 2 Castaway, which The Sims Castaway Stories features an easy-to-play, directed Story Mode that allows fans to help their Sim survive and thrive on a tropical island. As The Sims Castaway Stories begins, players will meet Jessica, a Sim who washes ashore with only a steamer trunk and a hatchet to her name. With nothing more than orangutans, lagoons and fish in sight, Jessica embarks on her tropical journey and must choose to either survive or escape. While on the island, Jessica will meet natives and castaways in hopes of creating a flourishing community. To do this she must accomplish various tasks – from spear fishing and scavenger hunting to fire starting and more! The Sims Stories line of products – all of which carry a 12+ PEGI rating – are standalone entertainment experiences that do not require companion games from The Sims library – just load onto your laptop or desktop and play. As a SIMs game it is decent and a bit different. Missions and goals make it less redundant and there are some very cute additions.. but bottom line is it is juat another SIMs. Not enough new material/new things to do to reach my "Highly recommended" list but I can say if you love the SIMs this one you would want to try, because AS a SIMs addition it is one of the cutest.

I bought this game for my husband after my daughter bought the The Sims Casaways (Wii) for me. I was having a lot of fun finding the secrets that he wanted to be a part of it. Wii only allows one player and one Game at a time. Got the Pc game so he could play on the computer while I play on Wii. The game is NOT the same as Wii and move more like the Same old Sims games. He is playing it but seem a little disappointed because it doesn't have the same puzzle, servival, and fending for yourself. He also mention that you age and he didn't like that. If there are codes to change those things we are unaware. Glad we bought it second hand.

Plenty of great story lines with cool characters to play and meet. Graphics for this game are great. The story is fun and lets you write the story. A very fun Game

I like the fact that I can play it easily on my laptop, but I was a little disappointed in the game itself. I expected more from Maxis after playing The Sims 1 & 2. For example, the viewing area is limited and the game lacks some imagination. I much prefer the original PC game, but it IS handy to have the sims on my laptop, too.
