Album NotesBrides of Destruction: Nikki Sixx (bass instrument); Tracii Guns, London LeGrand, Scott Coogan.Personnel: Tracii Guns (vocals, guitar); Scott Coogan (vocals, drums); Nikki Sixx, London LeGrand (vocals); John Corabi (guitar); Kris Kohls (drums).Audio Mixer: Ken Ramos.Recording information: Klown Studios, Santa Monica, CA.Illustrator: Erik C. Casillas.Photographer: John Harrell.A kind of hair-metal supergroup comprised of Motley Crue bassist/songwriter Nikki Sixx, L.A. Guns/Guns 'N' Roses founder Tracii Guns, and a pair of longtime Los Angeles scenesters, Brides Of Destruction combines rough-and-ready retro hard rock with a more modern, grunge/punk-leaning approach. After just a few songs, it's clear that HERE COMES THE BRIDES is an unique hybrid. Full of trashy guitar and trashier drums, the album summons the ghosts of Black Flag, the Sex Pistols, and the Dead Kennedys, but sends them scurrying back to their graves with that most non-punk of musical elements: the blistering guitar solo.Lead singer London LeGrand has an amazingly versatile voice, and manages to sound equally convincing on garage rockers, power ballads, and metal anthems alike. At times he echoes everyone from Iggy Pop ("I Don't Care") to Layne Staley ("I Got A Gun") to Jeff Buckley and Enrique Iglesias ("Only Get So Far"). In the end, though, what makes HERE COMES THE BRIDES so infectious is that it sounds like a band effort by players who live to rock, unabashed, and devoid of irony or angst.
