When a horrifying attack leaves one of the four members
of the Women's Murder Club struggling for her life, the
others fight to keep a madman behind bars before anyone
else is hurt. And Lindsay Boxer and her new partner in the
San Francisco police department run flat-out to stop a series
of kidnappings that has electrified the city: children are
being plucked off the streets together with their nannies--
but the kidnappers aren't demanding ransom. Amid
uncertainty and rising panic, Lindsay juggles the possibility
of a new love with an unsolvable investigation, and the
knowledge that one member of the club could be on the
brink of death.
And just when everything appears momentarily under
control, the case takes a terrifying turn, putting an entire
city in lethal danger. Lindsay must make a choice she never
dreamed she'd face--with no certainty that either outcome
has more than a prayer of success.

Boxer is heavily involved in the investigation of a senseless mass murder on a touristferry, which leaves her best friend Claire Washburn, clinging to life and gives Yuki Castellano the opportunity to try her first murder case. Boxer is also investigating the kidnapping of the small child of an important and influential San Francisco couple. Meanwhile, reporter Cindy Thomas finds her apartment building is the target of violence and vandalism that seems to be escalating.
One case solves itself easily. The second case, only the reader knows the identity of the perpetrator, and Boxer and Thomas slowly determine who is terrorizing Thomas's complex. The third case I will leave to the reader to figure out = )
Another great book by James Patterson! The Women's Murder Club series has fast become one of my favorite sets of reading material. I am headed onto the last installment 7th HEaven, I am sure it will be as great as the last 6! Now if he could only write 3-4 a year = )

Great Women's Murder Club Book
Created: 07/03/08
This is a a great book from the Women's murder club series by James Patterson. The book has a great plot with 3 stories combined in this book. One being Claire being shot and the shooter being caught with Yuki as the prosecuter. Then, there are the children being kidnapped along with their nannies with Lindsay investigating. Plus, Cindy has a killer in her apartment complex which Lindsay help's to solve. I enjoyed reading this book.

The Sixth Target
Created: 05/10/07
I bought this book because I have read the rest of the Murder Club series and found them to be well written, and unique in their plot. I have read many of James Patterson's books and find him to be a master of suspense. I love to get lost in a good book and the Murder Club series offers intense, realistic mystery that draws you in and keeps you turning the pages. If you have an appetite for mystery you will find "The 6th Target" very satisfying.
