I decided to learn Adobe After effects so that I could apply to more jobs- basically to broaden the spectrum of potential employers. I have done a couple of lessons and love the book so far, I'm learning a great deal and that's what's most important.

This book was very helpful. I was able to learn entry-level AE skills with no problem. The first half of the book may have well been called After Effects for Dummies. That's as far as I have gotten, but have already made a simple intro for a video.
