Bosch Tassimo TAS4511UC 1 Cups Coffee Maker

We have owned two Tassimo coffee makers for 3 1/2 years. Our machines were the first style made by Braun. Recently we purchased the newer style made by Bosch and the design changes are incredible. First, the older models had a drip tray that dispensed a small amount of water after each use. After about a dozen uses it was necessary to empty and wash the trip tray. The new machine has made this hassle nonexistent because the machine no longer emits water. The lid that closes over the tdisc is sturdier and closes much easier which means no more oddly pierced tdiscs which result in a huge mess. Another huge improvement is NOISE. Our older machines are quite noisy although we had grown accustomed to the sound. The new model is quite just making slight clicking sounds. The water tank is a much better design and includes a handy handle to lift it off. Smart idea. Come to think of it, smart ideas abound in the new model.

My husband & I bought the T45 for our daughter, who is in college, for her birthday. She got it out of the box, set it up in her dorm (had just slight trouble w/ the water filters but figured it out herself), & then immediately made 3 different drinks for herself & friends within minutes. The sheer number of varieties within groups (i.e. teas) may not be as big as Kuerig K-cups, but how the t-discs perform & taste is better & there is certainly enough variety w/ more being added! The Tassimo has bar code scanning ability to add just the perfect amount of water for each drink, it automatically foams the milk for the perfect latte, & the hot chocolate is in a delicious liquid instead of a powder. The drinks taste more like a coffee shop & they were the first to have Starbucks! We received her old Kuerig & enjoy it, but the T45 is the best!

Easy to use, but you have to try many different T-Discs to find what you'll like, which is fine, just know that is what you'll have to do. Machine is amazing how it adjusts amount of water, temperature, etc., however for size of cup I like, I always have to standby to push & hold button to brew more coffee. Again, not a big deal just know that is what you'll have to do for larger cups. My kids like the machine to make hot chocolate, again very easy to make! I really like my decision to purchase, would buy another to upgrade!

I bought this for my wife for Xmas but in 2 days it turned into a "family" gift. The machine has a small foot-print so it doesn't use much space. It has a LCD monitor for the water filter usage. It allows you to add more water to your beverage if you don't like it strong. Warns you when the water is low and when to descale the machine. (Note: I prefer to use distilled water = zero mineral build up).

Tassimo offers tons of discs for this unit so variety isn't a problem. We've tried several coffees and teas, everything is excellent. I like the idea of using frothing milk disc with Chai tea, Espresso or Cappuccino. Everything taste like it was professionally made by a Barista. Another good drink is the Gevalia "Morning Roast 12oz". This is a must for Mondays on the way to the office.

Luckily, I bought a HUGE lot of assorted T-Discs off eBay for Xmas so we have lots of things to try. I can see this would get expensive really fast if you have a big family that is thirty for hot drinks.

PROS:
Small, compact, easy to use, no mess, lots of variety, very fast - less than 90 seconds from start to finish.

CONS:
Somewhat expensive, T-Discs can get expensive if your a hot beverage addict, sometimes it can be a little loud - sounds like a MRI from time to time.

Great product! Makes a great shot for my morning mocha fast, no mess and great taste. My wife enjoys a single cup rather than an entire pot she never drinks and no more coffee maker clean up for her usually after it sits all day.

Tried the Latte and it is really good as well. I make 300ML of Dairygold choc milk for a minute 45 seconds in the microwave and remove any skin that forms on top of the milk when it is done, espresso shot from Tassimo plus a tiny bit of extra water in a paper to go cup with Rod's whip cream on top. A lot easier than warming up and making shots in the espresso maker and cleaning it up.
