AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800

Probably one of the "Best Bang For The Buck" dual core processors out there now!
I still prefer Intel processors, but for the price these AMD's are going for now, they are really tough to beat! Fast, stable, reliable, run fairly cool, and best of all, cheap!

I've used one before there phenominal get it lol but their not a phenom. I don't care even for gaming, dual core is standard, I am a programmer with high standards I require gaming grade hardware for the time due to compile time dramatically falling when using "enthusiast grade" hardware I do know about spending too much I have learned way too easily I would have to say not only is this great for the value but the transfer from amd 939 socket to am2 socket was virtually painless due to this day (2011) I can still buy motherboards for it for nothing. Don't go out and buy a 4 RAM slot motherboard, you can fit 4 gigs in each slot I remember 4 slots was because you always needed 4 gigs minimum (1 gig DDR for each slot) which in itself is expensive to this day, now i can get 4 gigs in one stick for half the price. DDR2 is a great steal considering it was 100$ for 2 gigs of the cheapest RAM you could buy when DDR 333 was standard. A dual core will be great for anything you need just have a good GPU if your going to game, dont buy a $200 + card and pair it with a dual core 2.0ghz cpu but I don't think its right to tell people what to buy. They need to find out for themselves what they need. As a heavy gamer who still plays classics but wont run emulators, ive seen Athlon X4 640's choke running dolphin with a nvidia gts 200 series. On the other hand for office use their great too. I think mostly gpu bottlenecks are whats stopping people from gaming. A computer dosen't make mistakes people do. Don't do this dont do that. Just do it, go out and spend money on this thing. ive owned one of these breifly its so good i wouldn't mind owning it again. to me the performance is worth using my more expensive card with a dual core. I paid 4x what this cpu cost for my GPU. I know it will scream with a dual core because im upgrading from 2.2ghz single. (Athlon 3500+) I cant wait to play COD World at War, or max out l4d finally. It took a mishap to end up buying a athlon am2 3800+ I thought i was buying the 939 version but now I looked at prices of am2 motherboards and I'm ok with spending 50$ total for all the ram i need and a motherboard could go with 4 gigs if I get lucky on ebay. its really not important the amount of time you spend researching then waiting to compile is discouraging. I know no ones going to read this but, I think its great I like the 2005 cpus a lot more than the one I have 10 years since it came out. 8 is a little better hahah. jeez. =[
