Movie synopsis

Elijah Wood and Jennifer Connelly lend their voices to this animated fantasy directed by Shane Acker, a veteran of Spike and Mike's film festival. In 9, Acker turns his Oscar-nominated short into a full-length fantasy about a world where humanity has been annihilated by machines. In this post-apocalyptic earth, a group of sewn creations bands together to battle the few remaining machines. Produced by visionary directors Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, this film also features the voices of Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly, Crispin Glover, and Fred Tatasciore.

9 (nine) DVD Movie Tim Burton doesn't meet expectations

Created: 05/02/10
Great animation, weak plot, slow movement, basically looks good but its boring. I had higher hopes for this film, I'm surprised Tim Burton put his name on it, more like wrote a check to make it happen. I'm not saying you shouldn't see it, but don't expect much. I also could have done without the political statements that are an underlying theme that prevail throughout the film.

Interesting...

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. Here's why: The characters were voiced by such well known and popular actors and this movie barely got any press at all. Good story-line and great animation. However, I don't recommend this movie for very small children, as there are several scenes showing dead humans/body parts..(due to the end of the world, and such). Note: My youngest (aged 5), didn't pay much attention to those parts.

Our future depends on how we treat it.

A piece of brilliance, both in originality and visuals. Although short, it felt right at 80 minutes. Do we really need the 2-3 hour epics to get the whole story? This film gets straight to the point. Harrowing and haunting totally got me into this movie. I feel the story treats the audience with respect, both young and old. This is possible a favorite for years to come.
