Perhaps no other individual has personafied this more than the hardcore legend, Mick Foley. In 1999, he wrote an amazing book entitled "Have A Nice Day! A Tale Of Blood And Sweatsocks". As he explained on a nationally televised wrestling program to promote this book, he said that he is computer illiterate, so he wrote the entire thing in long-hand form with the assistance of ballpoint pens and 17 blank notebooks. The result is a fascinating piece of reading that brings the reader into the world of wrestling in an up-close-and-personal way that is geniunely unique. At more than 500 pages in length, the detailed information housed within the covers also makes for a fabulous conversation piece. In the book, Foley explains about how he lost part of his right ear; battles with formidable opponents such as Undertaker, Triple H, The Rock and others; the reasons behins his 3 alter egos - Mankind, Cactus Jack, Dude Love; and, of course, how he got involved in the sport itself. And, who could ever forget that classic Hell-In-A-Cell match where he was tossed off the top of the cage? He also divulges stories about his family life, reflecting on his wife and children. Above all else, Foley is living proof that a human car crash can take a real beating and keep coming back for more. Have A Nice Day, Mick!

If you've never read a pro wrestling book, and you don't know what to get first, you could worse than picking up Mick Foley's "Have a Nice Day!". Undoubtedly the best book actually written by an in-ring performer, Foley is funny, descriptive, and breezy. He "breaks Kayfabe" on several occasions and doles out plenty of juicy tidbits regarding behind the scenes escapades. But this is no big lug writing about large men in tights who compete in fixed battles; Foley's honesty and charm shine through in every chapter.

Hearing the man known throughout his career alternately as Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love, and his own name talk about his wife and children is touching and tender. The big guy who's earned the moniker "The King of Hardcore Wrestling", who's taken more brutal, potentially crippling falls than anyone in the history of the business, is a winner again here as his book begins as a novelty, develops into a page-turner, and concludes as a small wonder. Big thumbs up.

One last thing-in the world of pro wrestling books, this rates as "Outstanding". My rating of "good" reflects it's lot among ALL books.

This is an amazing Bio of passion and perserverence; Mick Foley followed his dreams and attained what HE deemed to be his nirvana, his perfect life; My dad (who has never watched a single wwe match in his life, and had never heard of Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love, Mick Foley) Loved It! .. It is just a fantastic read :D

I decided to buy this book because I really like wrestling and wanted to get an insider's perspective and the fact that Mick wrote the book by himself without the help of a co-author helped a lot as well. This book was very interesting and provides great background information about the business and personal side of the Wrestling Business. This book was a very good read and Mick Foley's humor will really make you smile!
