A built-in headphone amplifier supports up to 600 ohms of resistance and less that 0.001 percent distortion, making listening to headphones through this ASUSTeK sound card a pleasure. The ASUSTeK Xonar Essence STX has a hyper-grounding circuitry design, which separates noise and signal, so its user only hears the clearest sounds. This 124 dB SNR sound card provides plenty of connectivity, as on the input side it features one four-pin MPC audio input, and one 6.5 mm headphone/line input jack. On the output side, this 124 dB SNR sound card features two sets of RCA audio out jacks, one SPDIF output jack, and one 6.5 mm headphone/line output jack. Actually I've been looking for such a product like this that should satisfied me and makes me happy with the better sound when listening music and see great movies with Dolby and DTS sound. I invested a lot time and money in purchasing various DACs and sound cards so far to find the better ones with easy to use, apply with other devices and convenient to set up to enjoy the music and the movies. This is the best one for me to meet these requirements, I believe. Of course I'll not stop my efforts in finding the better one in the future. However, this is the best one ever I heard various sound devices. Thank you ASUS!!

) It's like having a high-end dac and a transport on a sound card! Works well as a transport with my raindrophui 4 x TDA1541 + HDAM output. Out of last few sound cards I owned this is by far the best sounding sound card I owned. My only complaint is it does not have the flexibility as the EMU 0404 in sound customization but it's just a personal preference and wont be missed because the sound quality of the Asus Xonar Essence is superb as a dac or transport.
Previous sound cards I owned are the Sound blaster Awe 64 Gold, EMU 0404 Died and so many other cards I can't remember.

) I bought this card because I listen to a lot of music, especially stuff with bass in it. I had originally purchased the ST, but since my motherboard had no PCI slots I switched to the STX. This is by far the best sound card I have owned and don't plan on replacing it anytime soon, unless ASUS has a direct successor to coming out soon :).

) Powerful sound in speakers and headphones, all kinds of configurations and Channel Install simple, if you need to download windows 7 drivers from the Asus website.
It improves sound quality a lot!

Best sound card i had! It does cost it's money.
You can also use it electric guitar, it has the same mini jack,
And with it's asio drivers support, you can just use it with guitar rig or with amplitube.
