Adapted from three of the comics, Spielberg's re-creation of the comics introduces us to Tintin (Jamie Bell), a Belgian reporter who gets caught up in all sorts of adventures. One day, he found a model of a ship, the Unicorn and bought it and brought it home. However, when Tintin was buying the ship, two men came to try to buy the model, Sakharine (Daniel Craig) and Barnaby. Later, Tintin discovers that the model holds an important secret and somehow, the secret is linked to the real ship itself. On the way for answers, he meets the grumpy Haddock and head off to an adventure spanning around the globe with his white fluffy dog Snowy.

The animation is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's not right to call it a CGI film as the motion of the characters are much smoother than that of CGI films. Tintin's animated self looks stunning (even though he looks kind of different from his comic-self) in his blue long sleeves. Snowy is fluffier than ever. Captain Haddock is grumpier than ever. All of the animation is simply breathtaking and the best I've ever seen.

I like how they change scenes. While most other movies just shift scenes normally, this film uses a little imagination and is ingenious in shifting scenes. They can change from a scene of shaking hands to a desert scene by using the outline of the two hands into the surface of the desert. This thing is just entertaining and great in its own right and deserves some reward.

The movie itself is fun to watch. The story is compelling, the lines are natural-sounding, and the action is plenty of fun to watch. It is great excitement to watch and I was hooked from beginning to end. Great plot, awesome action, breathtaking animation equals up to amazing movie.

TINTIN made our bus ride from LA to Fresno State bearable, enjoyable!!!

Amazing movie . . . yah, yah, yah it's a cartoon, CGI (computer generated image) movie, but the lighting, shadows and all are pretty darn good. The story is action packed and fast moving . . . and the reason these movies exist is to tell a story with action that you just can't do with human actors. In fact, that's why so much of the movies we see today all have some kind of CGI to go along with the humans. Star Trek would be a big zero without CGI.

A very enjoyable experience. I got the move from an eBay auction and my wife played it on the tour bus for her marching band's tour to Fresno State for a music clinic and then on to Yosemite National Park to stay at the Camp Curry Village tent cabins. Truly a marvelous excursion and event with a bus ride made much more enjoyable and bearable with TINTIN!

Entertainment the whole family can enjoy! Lots of action, great graphics, compelling story.

I enjoyed it very much... and I liked how the bad guy resembled Steven Spielberg... made me laugh.

You can see this one with the kids. Pure entertainment.

I was surprised at how good a film it was. ARG, it's hardy entertainment matey.

Cheers and Blessings, Max Rainet.

a movie that doesn't "play down" to children... an honest ad

great movie! i bought it for our grandchildren aged 3 to 7, thinking it would be fluffy and nice and cute... at first, when we viewed it with them, i was a bit stunned at the "adult-ness" of the presentation, the multileveled character of the script and animation, i wondered if we should shut it down. at some points, interestingly, the older two children would hide behind the couch, but when we suggested we'd shut it off, they begged us not to.... it was the 3 year old who wouldn't budge! he ate it up! i found myself wondering why these reactions.... i've concluded that the kids felt the challenge of the presentation, somehow knew it wasn't a "playing down to them" movie, and they saw realism despite the animated nature of the piece. it's awfully well done, and i followed up by purchasing a reading version (not graphic novel...) for the eldest child. she grabbed it and dove into it without skipping a beat. she could hardly wait to read the next adventure. the parents, who are very careful what the children watch, also loved the DVD. i think it will also be viewable for years to come.... would recommend, but pre-watch it first, if you're doubtful... it worked awfully well for us!

Very disapointed. I understood that the DVD would come with an UltraViolet code which could be used to view the film in my UV account. However that was not the case. The DVD only contained information about the UV program but no code. Very misleading advertising!!!!!
There are DVDs one can purchase which do contain the UV code and I was led to believe this was one of them.
