I bought this as boks were taking over the study and i do like to re-read them. Also when taking books on holiday they add so much weight to the case and I always end up buying more when I'm away. We're only talking about one book a month or one a week on hols, but still they mount up!
Had been really apprehensive about a digital book, but have been pleasantly suprised. Will I still miss the inky smell and feel of a real book, I had warmed to the kindle suprisingly quickly.
I love being able to download a book there and then rather than go to a shop, or order on-line and then wait for the postman.
Screen is very non-reflective and doesn't hurt my eyes. I spend all day in front of a computer so was a little worried it would feel like work, but it really doesn't. Easy to read in bed too as not have to keep changing side or hold the book at funn angles.
i don'tave the touch version, so it is slightly counter-intuitive in the days of ipads, iphones etc to not be able to navigate using the actual screen. But didn't want to spend out too much in case I didn't use it.

I had Kindle downloaded to my i-phone for a long time, probably about two years and haven't picked a book up since.
When I saw the offer for this one I decided it was time I purchased one.
I would say since then I have used it everyday.
It is lightweight and can easily be handled while reading in bed.
The display is perfect for reading and you can alter the fonts to suit you.
Compared to viewing on my i-phone the viewing is second to none, the only downside is it doesn't have a light so can't be read in the dark unless you attach a light to it.
I am sure I will eventually upgrade to the Fire, but until then it is perfect for what I want, ease of use, quick page turn and load and if you are connected to WiFi you can easily download and purchase your next book, it also stays charged for at least a month.
The best thing though is that Kindle do a lot of free books and it enables you to try them and I have found some really good authors in the process.

For many months I was tempted to get a Kindle (it had to be a Kindle, not any other brand of e-reader). I waited until Christmas, but no one asked me what I wanted, I waited to see if they came down in price but they didn't seem to, then I decided to save £2 coins to pay for it. Whilst saving somebody advertised a brand new one (unwanted) on e-bay, so I put in a bid and won. I find it very useful, due to its lightness and size, to take out with me to read whilst travelling. It would also come in if you have to take your child to appointments (not theirs) and they have to sit in the waiting room. Amazon have now got parental controls so that you can do this safely, knowing that your child won't be tempted to buy books from the Kindle store. If you can't decide whether a book is worth buying, you can download a sample (but the sample can include a lot of the waffle at the beginning of the book you wouldn't necessarily read, such as acknowledgements) before deciding to buy it. I haven't loaded down newspapers, but if you like to have a newspaper wherever you are in the world, it looks like this could be a good function.
Word documents can be downloaded (but you do have to have approved senders so that you don't get junk mail), so I'm considering putting my address book on it for times when I go away, and suddenly have the urge to know somebody's address. Photographs can also be downloaded, but only in black and white.
Books download super quickly, and painlessly. The only pain is that you can run up a huge bill so you have to be strict with yourself. This particular Kindle does not have an audio link, unlike its predecessor.
Another thing that I have found, is that the proof reading can be poor, and sometimes a new paragraph can come in in the middle of a word.
It's possible to change the size of the print, so if your eyes get tired with reading, or if your child finds the print in the book too small for their eyes, this feature could come in useful.
I have caught myself putting my hand to the corner of the Kindle to change page as I would in a traditional book.

This model is the third different type of 'Kindle' that I now have. Each one has books for a specific purpose and this one is now exception...it is easy to use, easy to get on to the wifi and kindle store to browse and purchase any book available...many are free and some start from under a pound.
This Kindle has over thirty book in the short space of time I have had it...the really nice things is that with all those books loaded inside it...it gets no heavier...it is light weight and thus easy to hold, the e-print ensures that I can read each page even in direct sunlight and although additional light is needed at night, I don't have to put up with excessive glare like from most tablets or pads.
Charging is easy and the battery life between charges will be determined by its use upon reading...also the fact that after visiting the kindle Store...ensure the wifi is switched off to preserve battery life.
I can not fault it...it does what is says on the tin and that is all I am looking for.
Comparing it goes in two stages:
1. I doubt that many e-book readers can compare to the Kindle in its style and range...but;
2. I feel it is false to compare it with tablets that are the i-pad or others that utalise the 'Android' system as that kind of product is totally different and basically you get what you paid for and also what you wish to do with the product...you make your choice...I made mine...I have no regrets.

I brought this product to take on holiday, i got a lot of use out of it, it is brilliant as you can read it in direct sunlight and it is a nice size, not too heavy.
I like the fact it has a loot of memory and is extremely easy to use with amazon.
It is a little pricey, but totally worth it.
Its one of a kind and it is new but not touch screen like everything else that is new (which is what i like, touch screen annoys me)
I would definitely recommend it.
