Amazon Kindle Touch 4GB, Wi-Fi, 6in - Silver eBook Reader(Australian version)

THis is a great device!! I am an avid reader and my house is always full of books. Since I bought my first kindle I have only bought a few paper books and have cleared out a lot of my bookcases of paperbacks (I still love the look of a well made paper book). The main advantages of the Kindle over paper books are:
1. Availability of books - you can download free books by the thousand. Price of ebooks is far less than paper.
2. Ease of reading - once you get used to the device, it is far easier to use than a paper book. No more turning pages, no more bent bindings, its much slimmer than a paperback.
3. You can carry around with you hundreds of books in the device all available for you to use instantly!

The kindle is a great tool to eliminate carrying around a few books, it has all my books combined in one small unit. The battery life is great as well.
The kindle was delivered quickly and with no hassles.

I had seen the Kindle in the UK being used by a friend and was impressed by the clarity . I put off buying one in Australia as we did not have Wi Fi ,but once we had it I bought one on Ebay . It came with a free leather case . I bought a cheap international charger from Dick Smith as I use my computor infrequently . I would have liked separate printed instructions as I could not remember what I had read ( I'm not very computor savvy ) and could have done with the instructions in one hand and Kindle in the other . The keyboard is not that easy to use and I kept mis keying . Getting it up and running was not easy for me , but with more expert help we succeeded . I bought several cheap books to begin with until I get better at it and had no trouble reading them . I particularly like being able to put it down and not having to find where I left off . It is also light and easy to read , better than an actual book . I think when I am shown how to use it better from friends with them I shall get more out of it . I did not try any other products as the price was attractive and we had had good dealings with Amazon . Also the shops selling them don't let you try them before you buy , so you might as well get the best deal from Ebay.

Had the Kindle for about 6 weeks and I must say that I am extremely happy with it. It is easy to use and downloading books onto it is really easy. The readability is great to the extent that I can read on the second smallest setting without glasses while reading the same print in a book I need reading glasses.
The only gripe I have is (but not really an issue) is the adverts that appear as the screen saver, and bottom of menu page, as I have tried to use them and can't because I and in Australia. SO if these could be disabled somehow it would be good. I am very happy and wonder what the Kindle Fire is like and would consider an upgrade at some time.

Amazon kindle is a great product,and does everything i need this device to do. It also has bought back the joy of reading without the hassle of having to cart heavy books with me.I love the 100s of different books at my finger tips.While doing my research online about ereaders i always found myself back to the Amozon kindles,it was then a simple choice of which one.
