Album Notes
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.AMERICAN LIFE Limited Edition includes a 2 sided 23" x 35" poster and postage size Madonna stamp sheet.Personnel: Madonna (vocals); Mirawais Ahmadzai (guitar, programming, background vocals); Stuart Price (piano); Nicky Brown Choir, London Community Gospel Choir.Producers: Madonna, Mirwais Ahmadzai, Missy Elliot, Nisan Stewart, Craig X. Brockman.Personnel: Mirwais (guitar, programming, background vocals); Stuart Price (piano).Photographer: Craig McDean.Re-teaming with French electro-pop producer Mirwais, (who also lent his talents to 2000's MUSIC), Madonna uses her perspective as a globally famous ex-pat living in England to comment on the USA's spiritual state throughout AMERICAN LIFE. Prominently featuring plenty of acoustic guitar among the synth-soaked swooshes and Euro-disco beats, the Material Girl ends up going for a more stripped-down sound. This technique works particularly well on the opening title cut, which finds Ms. Ciccone rapping about bodyguards, soy lattes, gardeners and other upper-class perks that don't seem to make the spiritual side of life any better."Hollywood" does an even better job addressing the downside of fame while pumping in a few more hooks. Faith in family fuels the lush "Nothing Fails," with its unexpected gospel-chorus outro, while amore inspires the light and tight "Love Profusion," and insecurity plagues the solo-acoustic "X-Static Process." Of course all these songs of self-discovery and spirituality didn't stop Madonna from including "Die Another Day," the Euro-techno title song from the James Bond film of the same name.

Classic Madonna. This album was the basis of the Reinvention Tour! Love all these song especially "Nobody Knows Me." Mother And Father is another favorite of mine. Relaxed vocals but an important messages from the Queen herself! At first this album was a little hard to accept but with time, it has become like a fine wine. Every track is awesome and Madonna reveals her volunerability. Awesome! You will not be disappointed by this CD!

Enjoy!

Silly Theme But Good Music!!

Created: 21/06/10
She irreversably alienated half her fan base with the half-baked, uneducated theme of this cd but the music sure is terrific just like all her cds. The title track is too awkward (with stupid lyrics) but several other songs stand out to make this another innovative madonna record. The ballads Nothing Fails and Easy Ride are particularly enthralling.

Madonna - American Life (2003)

Created: 12/05/09
This is a very good CD, though not Madonna's best. But it's up there with her greatest. I love the idea of it all, and it comes across of spectacular in sound and composition. It has a collection of great songs, but “American Life“, “Hollywood“, “Nobody Knows Me“ & “Mother and Father“ are by fat the best. Be warned, this is not classic Madonna, it’s much more stripped down and has a lot of acoustic string arrangements. However it also has the electro feel we all know from the Music album. This would make and interesting addition to any music collection. I advise anyone to listen to it at least once. I rate it a B+.
