) I'd been searching for a monitor to extend the desktop of my MacBook Pro and was considering displays from HP, LG, Samsung, Dell, and Apple. In the end, although the Apple display costs a bit more than the competition, it actually had all the features and connectivity options I needed. So I decided to go with a used monitor that was still in warranty, and selected this one from eBay.
Now that I have the 24" Cinema Display up and running, my only regret is all the time I wasted looking at reviews for the non-Apple monitors! The clarity, viewing angles, included 2.1 speaker system, and general elegance, make this the display to have unless you've got lots more $ to spend for the 30" Cinema Display. :-)
If you're running an Intel-based Mac and looking for more screen real estate, do what I did and find a used 24" Cinema Display. I think you will be very happy with it!

) I own two; one for the office and one for the home office. I bought the second because I decided to stop making do with a lesser monitor at home. It's beautiful even when it's off. The images are crystal-clear. The three-way cable (Magsafe power connector, USB, and Mini DisplayPort) works really well. The only thing I'd change would be to increase the number of USB ports.

This is the perfect monitor for a Mac. The depth of color and the blacks are exceptional. The sound is excellent as well. With the optional Apple adapter, you can attach this to a wall mount with a 100x100 Vesa configuration. Overall, this size is just perfect for the desktop. It can be a bit pricey, but real quality usually is and in comparison to several other monitors that I have tried, it simply is superior. I would highly recommend the Apple 24" Cinema Display.

) The 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display. Now that the adapters have been released there are no more excuses. It has a beautiful and clean design, great performance with movies and games, phenomenal sound, and a good viewing angles.
It was once referred to as a, "fancy docking station with an excellent-quality screen."
You can adjust the back-light luminance by going through system preferences. There, you'll also have access to the display's color-temperature settings, where you can adjust it from 4,500K up to 9,300K.
This monitor is incredible.
eBay can save you hundreds of dollars on these Monitors.

The unit is housed in an Aluminum case which matches to both the mac pro and macbook pro computers which is the reason for the purchase.....
