I love my mac.
I bought an older mac because mine had been dropped by a family member and got broken. Since there was no fixing it, I decided to replace it with a like model. One benefit of buying an older mac is the excellent price.
Even older macs are great computers. The graphics can be a little dated but the computing power is not compromised. This mac is fast, easy to use, has a lot of storage, has an Intel core duo processor and Airport Extreme. I love traveling with my mac. The battery lasts about 6 hours which is great.

the work horse. It is small enough to carryaround, very fast handles multiple applicationsat once. You can buy this or an Dell, that will be obselete in a month. Mac Book Pro is the fastest best of Mac Book's line. I have an 8 year old one whichis still fast enough to run current software, and runs despite being dropped several times. immune to viruses, It is the right machine.

It is hard to rate this computer having an older and a newer model Mac. How things can change in a matter of years. This product is a much heavier than the computers of today. The battery life sucks. You really need to keep a charger at hand. If you are only going online to check an email or two and chat for a min the battery life is good. If you are going to be doing something extensive the life is sucked from the machine. Performance is still great for the year it was made. It is comparable to what we have today. This machine is great for kids and young adults in school who want to email, chat and do school work such as reports, letters and homework. It is OK if you are a graphic designer. A little slower than what you would want it for. You would need a computer of today to be the most efficient. What is is not meant for is for the gamers of today or even yesterday. If you are a gamer this machine is NOT for you. Overall it is a great past time computer and still works great for many things today. I purchased one for my nephew and it does all that he needs it to do.

Last year I paid almost $3000 for a 2011 Macbook Pro, and I absolutely LOVE it! The problem is my wife 'borrowed' it a few times, and began loving it too - she began to like the "Mac experience" more than her Windows 7 computer.
Well another $3000, or even $1000 was not in our budget to be able to bring my wife over to the dark side, but after checking out the specs on this machine, I was very impressed how much Mac we could actually buy for $300.
I think we will max out the RAM (+$60) and maybe a 500GB external USB drive for extra storage (+ $80), but for a total outlay of around $450, we have a macbook that my wife is very proud to show off, and will last her for years to come!
If you are looking for the (Intel) Mac experience on a budget, this machine is very nicely priced for the amount of Mac you are getting!!!

I got this MacBook for a good price on eBay, and so far, I am pleased with it. I can't believe for being close to 7 years old, this MacBook still runs modern programs and software pretty well. It isn't very fast, and sometimes I will get the SBOD (spinning beachball of death). I am still surprised how good it runs for its age.
PROS: Very affordable, Full Mac OS X experience, more powerful than iPad or iPhone, lots of USB ports and a CD drive
CONS: Heavy, gets very hot, not fast by today's standards, can get a 2007 model for $20 more
In the end, I like this MacBook, but I would not recommend it for anyone unless all they needed was a cheap laptop for web browsing or movies. It is too dated to do much more than that.
