Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop - MB940LL/A (October, 2008)

I did a lot of research prior to buying the MacBook Air. I was looking for a highly portable device to use when traveling away from my MacPro Desktop. I wanted to stay with an Apple product and the New iPad seemed to be the perfect choice.....Until I really understood the many limitations of this new device. My equipment requirements were as follows, light, powerful, ability to access the web, write email, and most importantly work with spreadsheets, Word Docs and Powerpoints. It all came down to the MacBook Air. A perfect fit. I hear many people complaining about the lack of a DVD drive. Folks....Really, how often do you use the DVD drive on your laptop? When traveling now a days, who wants to carry around physical DVD movies in addition to their laptops? Just download them to the HD via iTunes and you are on your way! If you need to load a program onto the MBA the "AirDrive" function works great! This works by wirelessly linking any Mac or PC CD/DVD drive to the MBA. If you absolutely need a DVD drive you can buy an external MBA external DVD SuperDrive for another $50.00 - $99.00 off eBay. The battery life is amazing! Like all new MacBook laptops the battery is built in and not user changeable. I was able to pull 6 hours of use from a full charge during a recent trip. The screen quality and graphics is incredibly clear and the colors are amazing! The best performance feature of all is the 128GB SSD hard drive. This may be a more expensive option but well worth the money given the fact that it offers almost "Instant On" loading once you hit the start button. The SSD is extremely quiet, runs cool and uses far less power to run than a conventional disc based hard drive. Bottom line... If you want a great portable Mac to use as a satellite connection when away from you more powerful Desktop then you can't ask for a better option than the MacBook Air! Go for it! You will not be disappointed!

I love this thing, I no DJ or game, this is the perfect student laptop super lightweight, I had to reinstall the OS, read the manual did not realize you can share the DVD/CD drive of another Mac or PC to do a remote install of the OS as long as they are in the same network! how cool is that, we truly are living in a wireless work with netflix I really don't need a DVD drive. This is my first mac its so easy to use, I will never go back to PC, anything you can do in PC can be done in mac

I absolutely love the the Macbook air! It's so light weight I can take it anywhere. Using the internet for downloads or to just surf the web is done with lighting speed on the Macbook air. I have own one for about two years. Now I need an upgrade to the newer version. I heard it's even faster and thinner than the last one.

My needs involve home and college use. I write a lot, browse the internet frequently, and take my laptop almost everywhere. The Macbook Air suits my needs perfectly. In spite of the naysayers, who talk about slower speed and other perceived shortcomings they may see with this laptop, It has been the perfect choice for me. I would recommend the Air for anyone in a similar situation. Of course, MAC RULES!

I guess the title says it all, but when you buy a refurbished product you tend to expect some imperfections, so when you receive your macbook air next day air and it's absolutely perfect, powers on out of the box, no scratches or dead pixels, it's a very pleasant surprise.
