The new MacBook Air is up to 2.5x faster than before. It features the latest Intel Core i5 dual-core processor, high-speed Thunderbolt I/O, a backlit keyboard, and OS X Lion, the next major release of the world's most advanced desktop operating system. MacBook Air also comes standard with flash storage, so it boots up in seconds, launches apps quickly, and wakes from sleep in an instant. And a long-lasting battery powers MacBook Air for up to 7 hours and offers up to 30 days of standby time. All in a durable unibody design that's thin, light, and ready for anything.
The MacBook Air with 13.3-inch screen--light, thin, and strong enough to take with you wherever you go (view larger).
This version of the MacBook Air (model MC965LL/A) sports a 13.3-inch high-resolution display, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor, 128 GB of flash memory storage, 4 GB of RAM, an Intel HD Graphics 3000 integrated graphics processor, and an SD card slot (see full specifications below). It also comes with the iLife software suite, which includes the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
OS X Lion
Every Mac comes with OS X Lion, the latest release of the world's most advanced desktop operating system. With over 250 features including Multi-Touch gestures, Mission Control, full-screen apps, and Launchpad, OS X Lion takes the Mac further than ever.
Key OS X Lion Features
Mission Control provides a bird's-eye view of everything running on your Mac.
Launchpad puts all your apps front and center for easy access.
View apps full screen and switch between them with a swipe.
Interact with your Mac using intuitive new Multi-Touch gestures.
Key Features
Flash Memory Storage
By replacing the standard spinning hard drive typically found in laptops (as well as desktop PCs) with flash memory, the MacBook Air delivers an almost instantaneous boot-up when you open the display, as well as faster application launches and snappier overall performance. Additionally, Apple has shed the enclosure that typically surrounds flash memory (usually about the same size as a standard hard drive), thus giving it a smaller footprint and helping to decrease the size of the MacBook Air.

I was looking for a new laptop, and was in awe of this little laptop initially for the form factor. It is still hard to believe that Apple actually wedged a full-fledged laptop int a form this small. It is very small and light but has a surprisingly sturdy feel. The 13" display is gorgeous, I initially thought smaller size might be an issue but I love it. Downside, is that there is no DVD drive, but with all of the digital media available, I don't really miss it. The battery life is amazing, I routinely get 7-8 hours of use and it charges back up to 100% in less than an hour. The solid state hard drive makes it very fast and almost instant boot up times make the laptop lightning quick. There is no fan, which means no noise but this little thing never gets warm. Previous laptops would heat up on my lap. It is expensive, I paid $1200 for this new on Ebay but have no regrets.

A laptop as it has to be. Slim, light, powerful, beautiful. It's like it's ahead of the time. Or actually all other laptops are just archaic compared to this one.
Aluminium unibody, backlit keyboard, great touchpad, no ventilation holes, no ugly stickers, no ugly frames around keyboard, no ugly holes and gaps. And it's (mostly) silent.
Other makers are trying to mimic the MBA with ultrabooks, but they completely miss the point on building the beautiful and concise product, not just old ugly out-of-date laptop, only thinner.

This is hands down one of the best laptops we've ever owned. Got this for my wife as an upgrade to he previous MacBook and she loves it.
I won't get much into the whole Mac or PC debate, but I will say if you're on the fence, there are two reasons why I'm a fan of Apple software. One, virus protection and security are fantastic and two, it really does just work and Apple tries to make things straight forward and simple.
On the hardware side, this laptop is fantastic. It looks and feels great, with a fabulous screen and really good battery life. It runs plenty fast and even handles some pro apps like Adobe Creative Suite well for moderate use. The most amazing thing about the MacBook Air is literally the "Air", because it's so light I can easily hold it with one hand while the screen is open. If you haven't handled one of these in person, I recommend going to the Apple Store or local store that carries them, so you can get a feel for how light and portable it really is. Another wonderful thing that comes with all Mac laptops these days, is the MagSafe power cable that simply pops out if you trip over the cable, so your valuable laptop is safe and sound. I can attest to how valuable this feature is no less than five times.
Lastly, yes Apple's products and this laptop included, are more expensive than the bargain brand, but you really do get what you pay for. Hardware that lasts and also holds its resale value very well, as well as software that's easy to setup and use. I highly recommend this fantastic laptop for normal daily computer use and moderate use with pro apps.
