Movie synopsis
New York City ballet dancer Nina (Natalie Portman) enters into an intense battle of wills with a talented and ambitious new arrival (Mila Kunis) who seems intent on edging her out of the spotlight in this supernatural-flavored psychological thriller from director Darren Aronofsky. Nina covets the role of the Swan Queen in a production of Swan Lake by acclaimed theater director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel). The harder Nina works to win the part, however, the more overwhelmed she becomes by her suspicions that talented newcomer Lily (Kunis) is intent on stealing it away from her. As the production draws near and Nina struggles to master the duel roles of the White Swan and the Black Swan, she grows increasingly unstable to the point where she finds it difficult to distinguish fantasy from reality. Though her burgeoning friendship with the unconventional Lily helps Nina to jettison her perfectionist instincts and find her footing as the Black Swan, the closer she gets to perfecting the role, the further her sanity erodes until she begins to experience a bizarre and profound transformation.

nina (natalie portman) is a ballerina in a new york city ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. when artistic director thomas leroy (cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina beth macintyre (ryder) for the opening production of their new season black swan, nina is his first choice. but nina has competition, a new dancer: lily (kunis) who impresses both the white swan requires a dancer who can play both white swan with innocence and grace, and the black swan, who represents quile and sensuality. nina fits the white swan perfectly but lily is the personification of the black swan. as the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship. nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side- a reckless that threatens to destroy her.

) Very good movie, Makes you think.. and very suspenseful. I bought this movie after being told by many that it was a very good movie. Natalie Portman played a very convincing part which keeps you on your toes at all points of the movie. Rep from The New Your Post gave this movie 4 Stars **** but I believe it deserves a 5 Star rating ***** for sure.
A "must" have film for ballet and collector fans!

) Preferred a 3-Disc combo (BluRAY, DVD, and Digital copies) to the 2-Disc. However, the film is outstanding, thrilling, and nightmare like. A "must" for ballet fans and collectors alike. Will watch over and over.
100% must see!!

Loved the movie it was dark and thought provoking, great performances all around especially the two female leads.
