None better, even not being stereo.

We are a tone-tailor, in that we tailor your tone for your ear. I have ended up with nine different chorus pedals setting in the case to be tested for various types of music and general application. This pedal, the Boss CE-2, is the original one-and-only; nothing else sounds as good. It is thick and lush without being overbearing and the sound of each string is still well respected. The CE-2 is the chorus by which all others should be judged. Only much more expensive units, many of which are rack-mount, are even in the same league. If you are strictly a pedal guy, you will find no better tone in a chorus. It is not stereo, which was the only knock on it "back in the day", but the CE-3 stereo replacement is an embarrassment by comparison.

classic

the classic compact chorus pedal. it does exactly what it is famous for. smooth, roland chorus sounds that go from phasey to vibrato. this pedal has the classic, subtle roland chorus sound. far superior to the obnoxious EHX small clone.

Boss CE-2 Chorus - Vintage = profit
Created: 09/04/11
I had a CE-2 back when they were new. About a year later I got rid of it to get something newer/better. Then just recently I bought another CE-2 because I needed a chorus pedal that takes up less space than my Line 6 MM4.
Is the CE-2 a fantastic pedal (as legend has it)? In my opinion, no. Is there something mystical about the chorus effect it produces? No. The MM4 is better. What it is, is easy to use and small. The biggest problem with vintage pedals is that the on/off switch gets cranky and fails to turn the thing on and off, and frankly, that pisses me of when it happens, and mine does that. There is good news in this situation however. I will sell this pedal for more than I paid for it because it's "vintage" and people will think there is something very special about it. In my experience (47 years on stage) vintage does not often = better, but almost always = profit.

Very good pedal. I think they are a little overpriced but whatever. Anyway, as for the pedal it sounds excellent. I use a gold top les paul with the DM-2 in the effects loop of a mesa dual rectifier. You can have a very thick/wavy sound dialed in but your original tone remain totally transparent. The CE-2 along with a DM-2 Delay and an SD-1 Super Overdrive are the only pedals that I always keep in my chain. The CE-2 and DM-2 sound like they were made for each other. Best chorus I have found so far but like I said they are somewhat overpriced. You should not have to pay over 100 dollars for one. If your patient enough you can find one for less.
