Boss MT-2 Distortion Guitar Effect Pedal

This pedal is great for that old-school metal and hard rock sound. If you play metallica, slayer, megadeth, ect; then this is for you. You can creat your own sound with this pedal. It have 6 different controls on the pedal; level, high, low, mid, mid frequency, and distortion. It's very durable, and affordable. Do not buy if you are looking for the new school sound like ax7, linkin park, etc.

This pedal offers a great range of distortion sound. I can get the sound of nearly any band I could ever want to.

While the sound is good, it's not a tube amp. There is no substitute for a tube amplifier. But this comes pretty close.

Only complaints: This pedal has a good amount of distortion, but if you're looking for super high gain, you might want a bit more. I've learned to compensate and simply play with better technique :P I had the tendency to get lazy with my other amplifier since the gain was so high.

I love this pedal. We are talking pure metal madness here! With the EQ on board allowing adjustments to high, low, mid freq and mids the tonal possibilities are infinite! I especially liked the fact that even minor adjustments actually made a tone difference!The gain is monster yet dead quiet when not being played! I got it home and was tweaking away for two hours just smilin' large! If you are looking for a solid metal tone this is your pedal! Go out & Get it!

I guess this is the best pedal for metal with tons of distortion. I simply use it to play metal, which is about the only thing it's good for.

The pedal has a 3 band EQ, with two dials available for adjusting the mids (one for boosting/cutting the frequency you set using the other knob, which is to set the frequency of the the middle range). There is also level and distortion dials. The knobs for the High and Low frequencies have a variable range from -15dB to +15dB, and the Middle frequency has a range of 200Hz to 5Khz.

I have not found the pedal to be amazingly noisy, though turning the distortion all the way and not using humbuckers you would probably find it to be quite irritating. I have found that you can get a good strong sound out of it but there is a lot of tweaking to be done to make this, otherwise the sounds can be somewhat tinny.

The built in Eq drag my attention and as its a feature not had in my previous dist pedals, I gave it a go.I'm playing it mostly with my Jackson dk2 on a clean all tube amp.Big plus? The pots are very sensitive and make tons of different sounds, thick and sustainy, great deal if you 're looking for heavy, Metallica-type distortion.
I won't give it a 5/5 though cause in my ears distortion seems to have a certain "character" - best way I can describe it - it sounds a bit compressed over the top and I would prefer it a little more "plain".
Overall its a good pedal,classic Boss diehard all metal box, the best I have tied so far for heavy distortion sounds and I would definitely buy it again if it got stolen or broken.
