It Doesn't Get Better

I had read the book when it first came out. Now purchased another on eBay.
I've seen the movie several times. My daughter recently
got married in Carmel. We stayed at Eastwood's, Mission Ranch.
My girlfriend and I couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the green pickup sitting there, with Kincaid Photography on the door. We waited till dark and slipped into the side that wasn't locked. Sat in that seat and touched the steering wheel, that Clint(Robert Kincaid) had touched. It doesn't get any better than that. What a wonderful love story! Another great novel by Waller, Puerto Vallarta Squeeze. Also a movie. "Waller knows the secret of romance novels. He writes the way people feel and think when they are first in love.........."

This is my favorite movie. Not many people are fortunate to have a once in a lifetime love, I was lucky enough to find a love like theirs and we took the chance and got to keep it for 23 years until cancer took him last year. He happened to look like Clint Eastwood so when I want to remember how he would talk with his eyes and how his hair lays etc I just pop in the movie I decided I needed the book and this is the first book/movie that is so true to each other without a bunch of changes. The book stays next to my bed on the nightstand and I pick it up now and then and just reread a few pages. What a great love story. It makes me remember how lucky I was to have that true love where you are really no longer two people but one. Thanks for a great book....

I recognized the title of this book after seeing the movie previews. I had no idea what it was about. But the movie starred and was directed by Clint Eastwood, so I figured it couldnt be half bad. It turned out to be so much better than I expected. Im not usually interested in any type of romance novels but this one was very well written. It had all of the emotion and love needed to draw me in, without the smut and garbage I normally assosiate with romance novels.Really brings you into the story, allowing you to feel the pain of the charactors love lost. I loved this book!

Held MY Breath!

Created: 26/01/06
I read this book soon after it was available in the library. The previous reader was a smoker and a heavy one at that by the putrid fragrance wafeing from every page. But, then something took over...the story of a lonely woman whose hormones were still working. Something I could ID with. The quaint Iowa setting does still exist in remote areas where one can leave the front door unlocked at night. The relationship between the couple was flowing and free. Very easy to follow with the sexual tension building to a crechendo...I held my breath as my eyes couldn't keep up with my comprehension of what I was reading! After the wordsn stopped and there were no more pages to turn I thought,"what a story!". It was a real shame when the actual bridge was set on fire by some sicko, but the book still remains in multiple copies for those of us who still desire some romance in a simle setting of rural America.
