Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Xbox 360, 2011)

Once again Infinity Ward releases another substantial work to the CoD franchise. Unfortunately it really is not so much as near as new, yet it is the "stunning" conclusion to the story that spanned three games, and I have to give the campaign credit for innovation and action, though a little too short even on "Veteran". Multiplayer on the otherhand still has a semblance to the previous title albeit with new game modes, features, if you would not call most of that new content a waste of chaff. The online gameplay will keep you busy for a good amount of time for the purpose of replay value, despite some flaws in spawning and overpowered weapon combinations and useless customizations.

MW3 is still worth getting whether new to the FPS genre or a returning player. Unless you are the latter don't expect too much from it.

Modern Warfare 3 is quite an accomplished game. There are plenty of likes and dislikes for me. It is definitely worth your money if your an avid gamer such as myself. Having this game may not make your girlfriend or wife happy, but you sure will be. Let me give you some of my standard Pros and Cons of what I think about MW3.

PROS: It's yet another CoD game which speaks measures by itself. The multiplayer gameplay is exquisite. The customized killstreak rewards suite everyone no matter your style. Graphics= awesome. I really enjoy the weapons although they didn't get too creative since the last Modern Warfare. It is more difficult to gun down an opponent, which means it takes more skill and is overall more satisfying. Guns handle much better and are more realistic. Type 95 Assault Rifle..... enough said.

CONS: Maps are definitely fun, but do not share any of the intricacies of Modern Warfare 2 like rooftop battles and shrubbery to hide in. Explosives are awful. I am a huge fan of claymores and grenades and in MW3 they have lost a lot of their killing power. Price is just too much to buy new in my opinion. A majority of the maps are more styled for a Run-and-Gun gameplay which favors the less skilled where luck is a contributor.

OVERALL: Buy it!! and make sure to buy it USED. It may take a few days to get the hang of it like most games, but soon after it will become one of your favorites in your video game arsenal.

This is an awesome phenomenon! It's not just a game, it's a lifestyle. Activision really made a mark with this game and the creation of the Elite membership. Cross-game stats with COD Black Ops and a platform to include upcoming releases and past releases, eventually, is a brilliant business model! Having the Founder statis with the Elite membership makes all the great options even better, especially with the 'Founder Only' goodies. (This is the 2nd COD MW3 Xbox 360 game we purchase, the first one was pre-ordered and we were at launch for four hours (yep, four long hours...) with approximately 1200 of the 20-and-under crowd. I think we were two of twelve over-20 people that were not employees of the store and, coincidentally, ran into our nephews, kids from our neighborhood, allong with current and former schoolmates of our teenaged son...all of whom wondered how and why we were there... Well, we have the credit cards! It was sweet when they pulled up chairs for us around 11pm... As I am a fan of this series, along with Halo, I absolutely recommend this title for all. Our son, though attention span equals the length between previous and upcoming launches, gives this a 21-sniper rifle salute!

Since playing Call of Duty, I've notice a few things from Activision. That they've begun to become greedy, bastards who seek to rape out as much as they can from COD lovers. And also, there games aren't half bad; I mean seriously, what was wrong with Modern Warfare 2? Overpowered guns? For people who think over powered means you get killed a few times means it 'OP', no Overpowered means you can't get a kill when someone has this gun, it has excellent direction and accuracy; basically god-mode. Same goes with Black Ops, the game was fun; Treyarch did a excellent job on the game, only problem were the graphics they seemed a little cartoonish. Other than that Treyarch did a excellent job on the game and I recommend that as the "new cod game". Now back to the subject at hand, MW3 was a fast-paced, action packed thrill ride which we all love; yet like all COD games it could be improved. I recommend this game to those in love with the Modern Warfare series and COD itself. But to those who don't like it, don't buy it and then complain because seriously, they're a lot of problems with your precious 'Drake's Deception' or 'Battlefield 3', especially Battlefield 3 don't even let me start about the campaign...anyways MW3 is a new game with exciting perks and guns; it's true they bought back favorites from Call of Duty 4, Black Ops, and Modern Warfare 2 but it was still a fun game. Don't listen to these haters, if you want another fun game please buy it, lastly, if you want to sell yours, PLEASE, MESSAGE ME ABOUT IT I'D LOVE A VERY LOW PRICE FOR IT! First off just wanna say not a die hard fanboy, am a general FPS player that has taken a liking to CoD's MP. For all you ppl complaining that it's the same thing as MW2 or the story sucks, all I have to say is this...IT'S AN FPS, if you want a intriguing deep story go play an RPG, or 3rd person shooter. FPS's in general are mainly made for one thing now days and that's MP since online gaming has skyrocketed since the release of xbox live. Granted you still get those decent SP stories the main focus is MP without a doubt though in the main stream shooter's mind.

And if you like the MP of any of the CoD games done by IW then you'll like this one. You can flame all you want that it's the same MP as MW2, but when you look at it all the CoD's MP is the same just diff guns and maps (with the addition of perks in MW1, maybe some updated graphics along the line but I'd rather have them skimp on graphics (slightly) and have smooth gameplay at 60 fps, ya not over the top excited about it, but am interested to see what's new in this one's MP. Anywho that's just my opinion when I see all these idiotic reviews about story and no change in MP.
